The University of Virginia's South Lawn Arts and Science Complex consists of an interconnected academic building complex with classroom, office, and commons space. The 115,000-sq-ft facility is considered a signature building on campus, as it was designed and constructed in a manner that extends Thomas Jefferson's designs for the school's iconic lawn.

The LEED-Gold building's strategic location makes it a vista point and fulfills Jefferson's original intent for the lawn to provide students with a view of the picturesque Blue Ridge Mountains.
