In Charlotte's South End, Balfour Beatty Construction oversaw the complete renovation of a former film studio into its own 30,000-sq-ft office space. The open office layout features a mix of the historic and the current, with exposed brick alongside more modern finishes.

Now functioning as the contractor's Carolinas headquarters, the project enabled the firm to consolidate its Charlotte-based operations under one roof, which also includes the staff of RT Dooley, the locally based contractor that Balfour Beatty acquired in 2009. The contractor is seeking LEED-Silver certification.
