TOWNSEND
Pamela Townsend has joined the Raleigh offices of Dewberry as senior vice president and director of Southeast strategic planning and growth. Townsend comes to Dewberry from AECOM, where she served as a senior vice president. She has nearly 30 years of experience in the consulting engineering business.

Robert "Skip" Notte was promoted to the position of vice president in Dewberry's Charlotte, N.C., office. He has more than 17 years of industry experience.

Ken Hartmann has joined HNTB Corp.'s Tampa office as vice president and client service leader for the Florida Dept. of Transportation (FDOT). Hartman spent most of his 30-plus years in the infrastructure industry with FDOT, serving as District Seven secretary from 1998 to 2005. HNTB serves as general engineering consultant for four FDOT districts.

Steven Moore has joined architecture, engineering and consulting firm RS&H, Jacksonville, Fla., as its aerospace and defense practice director. Prior to joining RS&H, Moore worked as an engineer for a base support contractor for the U.S. Air Force, and most recently with Lockheed Martin's rocket program. Moore takes over for Wayne Finger, who retired from RS&H after 32 years with the firm.

"Steve brings a wealth of experience and expertise to grow the practice as the aerospace and defense industries continue to transform the way they execute their missions," said Brian Reed, the company's CEO. RS&H's aerospace and defense practice currently includes eight offices in six states.

 

HUTCHINSON
David Hutchinson was promoted to the position of director of client services for The Beck Group, Atlanta. Previously a senior project manager, Hutchinson will now oversee all business development efforts for Beck's Atlanta office.

Also in Atlanta, Beck announced that Jason Freeland was hired as director of health care. He has 15 years of health care-related design experience.

Dan Moses has been named vice president with STV, Charleston, S.C. Moses will serve as a project manager and business unit leader for South Carolina and Georgia, focusing on transportation and infrastructure projects. He has more than 20 years of related experience.

 

BARKSDALE
David Barksdale was promoted to the position of chief operating officer for Batson-Cook Construction, Atlanta. In this position, Barksdale oversees all construction operations for the firm's offices in Atlanta; West Point, Ga.; Tampa; and Jacksonville, Fla. Barksdale had previously served as senior vice president and general manager of the firm's Atlanta office since 2011.

Kevin Appleton, a health care specialist with Batson-Cook for more than 20 years, was appointed senior vice president. Also appointed senior vice president was Curt Rigney, who leads the contractor's SkyHouse construction program that includes high-rise multifamily projects valued at more than $600 million.

Dave Schoendorf was also named a senior vice president. He joined the firm in 2013 after more than 24 years with a competing firm. In addition, the company named Jason Waddell director of construction technology.

"Over the last four years, Batson-Cook has grown significantly as a result of new business," Randy Hall, president and CEO, said in a statement. "As a result of this increased volume, we have restructured our executive level management."

Tim Griffin has been promoted to vice president for industrial operations for Wood Group Mustang. In this new role, he will lead the company's North American industrial division, based in Greenville, S.C. Griffin joined Wood Group Mustang in 2011. He served most recently as director of operations for the industrial group and formerly served as director of project controls and estimating.

Brandon Beane has joined Coastal Construction Group, Miami, as vice president of risk management. He most recently served as a founding partner of Beane & Bennett Construction Risk Specialists. Prior to that, Beane oversaw construction insurance services for the Southeast at Aon Construction Services Group.

Finley Engineering Group, Tallahassee, Fla., recently hired Darren Lucas as a senior bridge engineer. Lucas, with 15 years of bridge design and construction engineering experience, will be working on the Bayonne Bridge replacement project in New York and New Jersey.

Sims Crane & Equipment Co. appointed Deborah Garringer as chief financial officer. Garringer previously served as a partner with accounting and consulting firm Crowe Horwath. Garringer replaces M. Vernon Moore, who retired in April.

Mike Flanagan was named director of business strategy and development for Balfour Beatty Construction, Atlanta. Flanagan, who has more than 25 years of related experience, will provide leadership as Balfour Beatty seeks to expand its multifamily housing business into new U.S. markets.
