E. Richard Capps Jr. was promoted to senior vice president for STV in Charlotte, N.C. Capps will continue as Southeast regional manager for the firm's transportation and infrastructure division. He has more than 20 years of experience in roadway design and construction.
Also in Charlotte, Mark Robbins was promoted to vice president. He will continue as manager of STV's construction services group for the Southeast transportation and infrastructure division. Robbins has more than 20 years of experience managing bridge and roadway design projects.
Derek Gamble was promoted to vice president of operations for Ajax Building Corp. and will be relocating from Florida to lead the contractor's Atlanta office. Gamble has 25 years of experience, including the last 17 with Ajax, where he most recently served as director of operations.
Sue Ziegenfus has joined Stevens Construction in Fort Myers, Fla., as a project administrator. Ziegenfus has 33 years of administration experience and previously worked for structural steel and concrete tilt-up companies.
Jeff Turner was named chief financial officer and treasurer for Batson-Cook, West Point, Ga. Cecil Hood, CFO and treasurer for the construction firm for the past 16 years, will serve as a special consultant during the transition.
Brian Thompson has joined Stantec as a senior railway engineer in Charlotte, N.C. He has 21 years of railroad-related design experience.
Brian Allen was named senior vice president of business development for Gresham, Smith and Partners' transportation market. Based in Atlanta, Allen served as director of the Gwinnett County Dept. of Transportation for the past 15 years.
Jason Freeland was promoted to vice president at Heery International in Atlanta. In his new position, Freeland serves as director of Heery's health facilities design studio, where he's responsible for strategic direction, marketing and operations. He has more than 12 years of experience designing health care facilities.
Rob Baker has joined Moss & Associates as vice president. He will head the construction manager's new Orlando office. Baker has more than 32 years of industry experience and previously served as a business unit leader with Balfour Beatty Construction.
Rolando Alvarez was promoted to vice president and team leader for engineering consultant Smith Seckman Reid's Tampa office. Alvarez, a mechanical engineer who had served as the firm's Tampa office manager since 2008, will concentrate on the health care and higher education markets.
