Balfour Beatty Construction of Plantation, in partnership with James A. Cummings of Fort Lauderdale, was awarded a contract to manage construction for the Terminal 4 Gate Replacement at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport. Valued at approximately $100 million, the project is part of the Broward County Aviation Dept.’s $1-billion expansion program.

Intended to make room for the extension of the south runway, the project represents the first of two phases that will replace the existing concourse and alter its orientation from north-south to east-west.
Preconstruction for the project is slated to begin in the fall, with phased construction scheduled to start next summer.
