Text size: A A

Turner Construction Co. is proceeding on a $61.5-million Energy Production Infrastructure Center (EPIC) project for the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.

UNC-Charlotte will use the EPIC Building to support the academic and research community involved in energy production and infrastructure development. The 200,000-sq-ft facility will provide education, laboratories and outreach services. The scope of work also includes the expansion of a regional utility plant and the extension of an existing road.

The building is being designed to achieve a LEED Silver certification. Completion is targeted for November 2011.
