Unimog U500
The
Unimog line of multiuse vocational vehicles produced by DaimlerChrysler
was introduced to the United States in 2003 and is gaining wider distribution
in North America as part of the Freightliner Group.
The U500 is the latest model in line dating to 1947. The Unimog is designed
to operate in a variety of applications and to
improve the customer's overall economic performance through its multiple
capabilities.
The all-wheel drive vehicle can operate at freeway speeds, carry up to
17,000 lbs of payload, and has 18-in. of ground clearance. The U500 is
the core of a system and can be mounted with a wide range of attachments
including snowplows, cranes, spreaders, firefighting implements, augers,
backhoes, sweepers, tool boxes, and a three-way tilt bed for
general-purpose hauling. The U500 has a detachable steering column that
can be moved to the right or left side of the cab depending on the needs
of the operator. The speciallydesigned transmission/power divider is electronically
air-operated, and the U500 comes with four-wheel antilock air-disc brakes.

Topcon
TopNET CORS
Topcon has pioneered TopNET CORS - providing 24 hour satellite coverage
with GPS+ technology. GPS+ provides dual constellation tracking of both
GPS and GLONASS satellites, eliminating the downtime associated with GPS-only
systems.
TopNET CORS supports a wide variety of applications including land surveying,
construction layout, automated machine control, GIS data exchange, agricultural
control systems, and other applications based on GPS technology.
TopNET CORS reference station software suite is designed to operate with
a series of new TopNET products, creating a system that can be expanded
from a single site to complex networks covering extensive geographical
areas. TopNET provides complete system security by putting full control
under a designated systems operator.
Topcon's signal processing techniques to reduce multipath and in-band
signal interference mean reliable operation in urban areas.
