Boring Machine
American Augers recently announced the next generation of boring machines
has arrived, with the introduction of the 42-600G2. The G2 boring machines
include a hydraulic/electric clutch system that allows the operator to
shift with ease and maintain his presence while the auger is in motion.
The machine automatically engages the tracks when set into place so there
are no hook rollers to be fastened down. New hydraulic controls are placed
together for ease of operation and the machine thrust-lever features a
greatly reduced force of operation while increasing the amount of proportionality.
New hydraulic pressure controls allow the operator to maintain a constant
face pressure on the cutting head. The 42-600G2 is available with the
standard winch or the highly productive Quik Trac system. The new Quik
Trac system is a rack and pinion drive that not only allows the machine
to move at a rate of 77ft/min but also develops 10,000 pounds of thrust
and pull force. For additional information, contact: Ron Peacock at: 419-869-7107.
Survey Stations
Leica Geosystems recently announced the introduction of a new family
of surveying total stations optimized for construction and building applications.
The TPS110C has a handy keypad with just six function keys. The high-end
TPS410C features a high-resolution LCD with graphical user interface and
onboard memory that eliminates the need for additional data loggers. Other
features include standard camcorder batteries for full-day operation,
endless drives and laser plummet. The TPS110C and TPS410C total stations
incorporate electronic distance measuring technology, with standard infrared
measuring to prisms and optional reflectorless measuring to 80m with a
visible red laser. The narrow bandwidth of the laser beam permits precise
pointing to the target. For more information, visit www.leica-geosystems.com

Light Controls
A breakthrough in high speed, very efficient management of multiple lamp
systems was recently announced by Warner Power. Named the MULTI-ARC(tm),
it is not a single product, but a versatile, customized solution for especially
large systems requiring multiple lamps per power source. Its unique, patent
pending two- and three-phase design controls amalgam and high power lamps
in the 24W to 2,000W range. The cost savings here can be substantial,
when compared with a single-ballast-per-lamp system. The MULTI-ARC(tm)
is especially suitable for controlling massive multi-lamp arrays such
as stadium lighting, outdoor architectural sound-and-light displays, theatrical
stage and amphitheater performances, indoor and outdoor movie sets, ultra-violet
and germicidal applications and sophisticated lighting systems for surgical
theaters -- anywhere strict, dependable control is critical for lamps
arranged in multiple banks. For further information, please visit Warner
Power at www.warnerpower.com.
