Philip H. Agee was named senior business development manager for the air transportation business line at URS Corp. in Tampa. He will be responsible for assisting URS division offices and regional business units with aviation business development, strategic management and technical expertise.
Agee has more than 35 years of experience in the airport and aviation industry. He comes to URS from a national consulting firm, where he was the aviation business development manager.
Chuck Smith has joined Malphrus Construction as area manager for the company’s Raleigh, N.C., operations. He is responsible for business development and all project management. He has more than 15 years of experience in area markets, most recently working with Fowler Contracting in Cary, N.C.
Jim Eaton , vice president with McCarthy Building Cos., joined the company’s Atlanta-based Southeast division.
A 17-year industry veteran, Eaton has spent his past 14 years at McCarthy’s St. Louis headquarters, where he worked in operations and business development.
Ron Smith joined McCree General Contractors and Architects in Orlando as director of business development. Smith has more than 20 years of experience within the Central Florida commercial development and construction communities. He will primarily be responsible for new project and client development for McCree.
He will also be involved with all corporate marketing activities, business development and preconstruction services.
The Georgia Highway Contractors Association , based in Duluth, Ga., recently held its 71st Annual Convention in Hilton Head, S.C.
The following were re-elected to GHCA’s board of directors: James S. Cornett, Cornett Bridge; Dan Littlefield, Littlefield Construction Co.; Charles E. Matthews, C.W. Matthews Contracting Co.; William R. Peek, Peek Pavement Marking; Ferrell Scruggs, Jr., The Scruggs Co.; Clyde Shepherd, III, Plant Improvement Co.; and Donald B. Stewart, Jr., Stewart Bros. Inc. Each will serve a two-year term expiring in 2011.

Michael S. Wilson , vice president and Tallahassee, Fla., branch manager with Ardaman & Associates, was named “Engineer of the Year” by the Big Bend Chapter of the Florida Engineering Society.
An active member of FES, Wilson is the Big Bend Chapter state director. Additionally, he serves as vice chair of the Geotechnical and Materials Engineering Council of the Florida Engineering Society and represents the society and the council on the board of the Florida Institute of Consulting Engineers.
Tiffanie Reynolds joined WilsonMiller as marketing manager in Tampa. Reynolds has 10 years of marketing experience with several architecture, interior design and planning firms in North Florida and the Tampa Bay region. She most recently worked for Harvard Jolly Architects.
Karen L. Turpin has joined Newcomb & Boyd in Atlanta as a member of the accounting group.
Donald Carsto, Jr. joined the West Palm Beach, Fla., office of Hanson Professional Services. As a senior mechanical engineer, he will serve Hanson’s government market.
Carsto has more than 20 years of industry experience, providing heating, ventilating, air conditioning, plumbing and fire protection design systems for new and renovated facilities. Hanson is a consulting firm providing engineering, architecture, planning and allied services.
Michael E. Wilder was named energy and environmental specialist at MACTEC’s offices in Atlanta. Prior to joining MACTEC, Wilder spent more than 37 years with Georgia Power Co. For the past five years, he served as manager of GPC’s Clean Air Section of Environmental Affairs.
Mark Rothstein has rejoined Mehaffey Construction in Port St. Lucie, Fla., as director of marketing and business development. Prior to joining Mehaffey Construction in 2007, Rothstein was director of Florida operations for Woods Restoration Services, a restoration firm.
Lynn Van Duyne has joined the interiors group at BRPH in Melbourne, Fla. Van Duyne will focus on developing BRPH’s interior design services in multiple markets throughout Florida and the Southeast. Previously employed as a consultant in the BRPH West Palm Beach office, Van Duyne brings 26 years of interiors experience to the company.
Design firm VOA Associates of Orlando, announced that Thomas Matzke and Daryl LeBlanc were elected to the position of associate principal.
