Names In The News - April 2009

Jeff K. McFadden of Taurus Southern Investments was named president of the Central Florida chapter of NAIOP, the Commercial Real Estate Development Association. Other 2009 officers include: president-elect — Mary Hurley of Pineloch Management Corp.; vice president — Anthony Fiorillo of ECS-Florida; treasurer — Scott Miller of Primary Capital Advisors; secretary — Pam Carman of Barton Malow Co.; and immediate past-president — Terry Delahunty of Foley & Lardner.

Sal Taddeo was promoted to executive vice president for Skanska USA Civil Southeast and will oversee the offices in Atlanta and Virginia Beach, Va. He will also oversee subsidiary company Bayshore Concrete Products, located in Virginia.

Taddeo joined Skanska in 1996 and most recently served as vice president-operations for the Northeast.


Larry A. Boatman was named transportation deputy national service director for PBS&J. He will be responsible for the firm’s transit, aviation, tolls, intelligent transportation systems and structures national business sectors. He is relocating from the firm’s Alexandria, Va., office to Orlando.

A PBS&J employee for nearly 20 years, Boatman is a senior vice president and member of the firm’s Transportation Executive Committee. For the past four years, he served as the firm’s east region director and district director for the Maryland/DC/Virginia markets.

John H. Classe Jr. has joined PBS&J as regional business sector manager for southeast engineering in the firm’s facilities service. In this capacity, Classe will be responsible for directing civil engineering services for clients throughout Florida, Alabama and Mississippi.

Classe has 25 years of experience in civil engineering and real estate development.


Daniel Douglas has joined KlingStubbins Southeast in Raleigh, N.C., as director of urban planning, and Christina Cornell has come on board as director of interiors.

Douglas most recently served as the director of Raleigh’s Urban Design Center. Cornell previously served in leadership roles at Swanke Hayden Connell Associates and EwingCole.


RS&H has promoted senior engineer and project manager Jesse Forst to lead its transportation and public infrastructure practices in Orlando. Forst replaces former office leader James Avitabile, who was recently appointed to direct the firm’s design-build practice nationwide.

Forst has more than 12 years of experience as a transportation engineer, project manager and operations manager.

In Atlanta, the firm promoted Jim Hullett, vice president, to serve as the Mid-Atlantic region director of its transportation and public infrastructure programs. He will develop planning, engineering, design and environmental services for federal, state and local agencies in the region served by RS&H’s offices in Atlanta, Savannah and Charlotte, N.C.

Hullett previously worked with the Georgia Dept. of Transportation for 15 years.


Dick Kerzic has joined DPR Construction’s national health-care core market group in Atlanta. He has more than 43 years of experience in programming, designing, building and managing hospital construction programs and projects. He previously worked as vice president of program management for Kaiser Permanente’s national facilities services department.

In his new role, Kerzic provides strategic direction for pursuing health-care work nationally and works with DPR offices across the country.


BRPH recently promoted Bruce A. Lott to vice president and manager of the firm’s Marietta, Ga., office. Lott has more than 37 years of experience in architecture. He has been with the company since 2003.

Also, Russell H. Wolfe has joined the company as director of operations for the Marietta office. Wolfe will provide oversight of operational aspects of the architectural design process.


Earle Allen was named project manager for Southern Industrial Constructors and Southern Crane in their Raleigh, N.C., facility. He is responsible for estimating and bidding on new projects and managing operational aspects of existing projects.


John B.C. Schallert has taken on the additional title of chief executive officer for Spectrum Contracting, a Naples, Fla.-based contractor of specialty services. He was already serving as company president.

Schallert is the founder of Spectrum Contracting. He will continue to manage all new construction activities along with his responsibilities of overall company management.


William A. Rathbun was named senior project manager for planning, engineering and program management firm Lockwood, Andrews & Newnam in Miami. He will be responsible for managing municipal infrastructure projects in the South Florida market. He has more than 14 years of experience in program management, project and task management, and design of water, wastewater, and storm water facilities.


Nathan Reinhardt, an assistant project manager with Dynalectric Co.-Georgia and a senior engineering student at Southern Polytechnic State University, was named “Engineering Technology Student of the Year” by the Georgia Engineering Alliance.
The GEA is an umbrella association for all participating professional engineering associations in the state.

Reinhardt was cited by the GEA for his academic, work and community service.  He has been working for Dynalectric since 2004 while also attending Southern Polytechnic State University.  He will receive a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering technology as well as a certificate in specialty construction management.


Alan Mooney was named controller for Mainstream Construction Group of Altamonte Springs, Fla. He previously served as controller/CFO of Del-Air, Sanford, Fla.

The company also appointed Wesley C. Miller as lead estimator. He was previously an estimator at Hoar Construction in Orlando.


Dawn White has joined Finley Engineering Group in Tallahassee, Fla., as its director of marketing. She previously served as the director of marketing and communications for the American Segmental Bridge Institute.


James Caldwell has joined Orlando-based R.C. Stevens Construction Co. as project engineer. He has four years of construction experience.


B & I Contractors of Fort Myers, Fla., promoted Joseph F. Hubner to plumbing department manager. He has 24 years of plumbing experience in both residential and commercial markets.
