Tom Lazzaro, president of HD Supply’s Interiors business unit, will assume leadership of the company’s Construction Supply business (HD Supply White Cap), while continuing to serve in his current role.


John Cornick has been named chief financial officer for Southern Industrial Constructors in Raleigh, N.C. He comes to the firm with more than 15 years of expeience in the construction and real-estate industries.

 

WilsonMiller, based in Naples, Fla., announced new leadership positions for 22 professionals throughout the firm.

Seven of these individuals are based in WilsonMiller’s Naples office. Michael H. Maxwell was elected senior vice president. John C. English, a vice president in the development design unit, was appointed principal. Margaret C. Perry and Raymond Piacente were promoted to senior associate positions.

Additionally, Susan Golden brings 20 years of planning experience to her new role as a project planner in Naples.

Also, Naples-based personnel named as new associates included Steven Acx, Cherie L. Akers and Brian Kelley.

In the firm’s Sarasota, Fla., office, James A. Paulmann was elected senior vice president, and Daniel J. Bond and Scott A. Buttari were named senior associates. Also in Sarasota, Gary S. Comp and David M. Bek were named associates.

In WilsonMiller’s Tampa-area offices, Jerold E. Long and Diane C. Chadwick were elected vice presidents, and Michael M. English was named a principal.

Also in Tampa, Lea D. Del Tosto and Neale A. Stralow were promoted to senior associate positions. New associates for WilsonMiller’s Tampa-area offices include Elizabeth R. Abernathy, Christopher C. Hayes and Marcie Stenmark.

The firm also hired Catherine L. Jones and Troy E. Simpson as planners in its Tampa office.


Concorde Construction in Charlotte, N.C., promoted Dean Kalariotes to vice president of project management. He will be responsible for project operations and employee development.


Leo Vecellio Jr., chairman, president and CEO of The Vecellio Group in West Palm Beach, Fla., was elected chairman of the American Road & Transportation Builders Association, at the group’s recent annual national convention in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. Charles Potts of Heritage Construction & Materials in Indianapolis was elected senior vice chairman. Larry Tate, product manager for Caterpillar in Decatur, Ill., was named first vice chairman.

Also at the convention, the association recognized Gene McCormick, senior vice president with PB in Naples, Fla., with its “Guy Kelcey Award.” The award recognizes McCormick’s service to the association.


Joseph Wheeler has joined the Atlanta office of RS&H as a senior engineer and project manager, working in the firm’s transportation and public infrastructure programs. Prior to joining the company, Wheeler worked as a design group manager for the Georgia Department of Transportation.


John French was promoted to vice president of Wharton-Smith’s regional office in Palm City, Fla.  The company, headquartered in Orlando, is a construction manager and general-contracting firm.


Shannon Snyder was named director of Calvin, Giordano & Associates’ construction, engineering and inspection division. Snyder has more than 19 years of industry experience and previously worked as a senior CEI manager with The Corradino Group in Miami.


Allen Peacock was promoted to director of development at Orlando-based Taurus Southern Investments. He will be responsible for all horizontal and vertical construction projects. He previously served as project manager – development.


David Peck has joined the Longwood, Fla., office of Community Engineering Services as a survey manager. He will supervise survey staff and coordinate survey projects.


Elizabeth Connell has been promoted to marketing and public relations coordinator at Tilt-Con Corp. in Orlando. She previously served as marketing and public relations assistant.


Heatherwood Construction, based in Bonita Springs, Fla., has hired Curt Ludlow as manager of preconstruction services. Ludlow is responsible for business development, pre-construction services, client relations and marketing.


Dennis Tyeryar has been promoted to general superintendent at J.L. Wallace in Fort Myers, Fla. Tyeryar has more than 30 years of industry experience.

Also, Teresita Varela has joined the company as assistant controller.


Manuel Morales has joined the Orlando-based Florida division of Clancy & Theys Construction Co. as safety manager. Morales has more than 30 years of construction industry expertise, with 18 years of experience as a state building inspector, building plans examiner and OSHA-certified outreach trainer.


Scott C. Weliver has been named Tampa office manager at MACTEC Engineering & Consulting. Weliver spent the past two years with a Fort Lauderdale-based mortgage banking company. He is a retired Lieutenant Colonel, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.


Hank Burns has joined BJAC, a Raleigh, N.C.-based architectural firm, as an intern architect.  Burns received his bachelors of arts in architecture from Clemson University and his master’s degree in architecture from North Carolina State University.


Palmer Electric Co. in Winter Park, Fla., promoted Dan DeMorse to project manager in the company’s commercial division, and promoted Robert Hansing to senior estimator in its multifamily division.


Bruce Kershner, executive director of the Mid Florida Utilities & Transportation Contractors Association in Longwood, Fla., was presented with the Safety Instructors Achievement Award” at the National Utility Contractors Association’s recent convention in Atlanta. The award Kershner’s training of more than 5,000 students in the association’s Excavation and Competent Person and Confined Space Entry programs.


Gina McDowell has joined engineering/testing firm PSI in Orlando as business development coordinator. Also, Judy Odom has joined the Orlando office as a corporate training administrator.


Patrick Conran and Rex Budd were promoted to the position of zone operations general superintendent for Owen-Ames-Kimball Co. of Fort Myers, Fla.
