The St. Joe Co. of Jacksonville, Fla., promoted Britt Greene to president and chief operating officer, and Chris Corr to executive vice president and chief strategy officer.

Greene has more than 25 years of experience in real estate development, finance and management. He was appointed COO in 2006 and has been focused on the overall operations of the company. In his prior role as president of St. Joe Towns & Resorts, Greene led the firm’s residential and resort projects throughout Florida and the Mid-Atlantic. As president of St. Joe Commercial, he was also responsible for the company’s commercial land sales and development businesses.

Corr has served as chief strategy officer since 2006, where he has been focused on business strategy, entitlements and infrastructure initiatives. Previously he was senior vice president of strategic planning and helped create the company’s entitlements process.

George Adornato was named vice president-Palm Beach for Miami-based Coastal Construction Group. In his new role, Adornato will be responsible for business development and overseeing all projects in Palm Beach County.

Adornato was most recently senior vice president/division manager for W.G. Yates & Sons Construction Co. in Atlanta. He has more than 20 years of experience.

Steve Starr has joined Tobin Dudley, a leading architecture, planning and design firm in Charlotte, N.C.

He was most recently studio principal of store design for Little Diversified Architectural Consulting, where he founded the studio and managed all phases of retail, restaurant and entertainment projects.

Rick Kolb has joined the Weitz Co. of West Palm Beach as construction manager of its Florida operations. Kolb has more than 24 years of construction industry experience. He will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations of the company’s office in Hollywood, Fla.

Also, Jim Wellswas promoted to director of preconstruction services for Weitz. He has more than 18 years of construction industry experience.

Erica S. Henning has been named development manager in the Carolinas division of multifamily real estate firm Lane Company in Charlotte, N.C. She is responsible for the firm’s day-to-day development activities in the area.

Before joining Lane, Henning was vice president-land operations for Heritage Building Group, a regional developer and homebuilder near Philadelphia.

Anish Kumar has joined Thompson, Ventulett, Stainback & Associates of Atlanta as managing principal of the firm’s worldwide planning practice. In this role, he will oversee the firm’s studios in Atlanta, Chicago, Dubai and Shanghai. He has more than 20 years of experience as a registered architect and certified planner.

David W. Lewis has joined DooleyMack Constructors of Sarasota, Fla., as senior project manager. Lewis has a background in real estate development, construction management and general contracting.

Mark Lewis has joined multifamily real estate development firm Cortland Partners as chief operating officer. Lewis has more than 27 years of expertise in real estate.

Baker Barrios Architects of Orlando announced the promotions of Jay Lovell and Scott Martin to associate principal.

Lovell, who previously served as senior associate and interior design studio director, has been with Baker Barrios Architects since 2002.

With the firm since 2004, Martin directs and coordinates planning and design projects within the architectural design studio.

Beth Bernitt was promoted to director of corporate marketing for The Beck Group in Tampa. She previously worked as director of integrated architecture, construction and development services for the company’s Florida region.

Bernitt will remain in Florida. She joined Beck after serving as a managing principal of HOK’s Florida division.

Graham Carpenter has joined Pollack Partners, an Atlanta-based multifamily real estate development firm, as development associate. His responsibilities will include analysis of new opportunities, as well as underwriting, acquisitions, deal support and project management.

Wendy M. Sveda has been named business development director at MACTEC Engineering & Consulting, working from the firm’s Atlanta office. Prior to joining MACTEC, Sveda was business development director for an Atlanta-area engineering company.

George Gilhooley has joined HNTB Corp. in Lake Mary, Fla., as the Senior ITS/VII Practice Builder for the firm’s Florida District. He will be responsible for the on-going development and execution of intelligent transportation systems, vehicle infrastructure integration and traffic engineering projects throughout the state.

Gilhooley has 30 years of experience in a variety of ITS, traffic operations, construction management and engineering programs.

Ellen Leroy-Reed was promoted to director of business development for Breaking Ground Contracting Co., a general contracting firm headquartered in Jacksonville, Fla. She has more than 10 years of experience in business development and public relations.

Debra Harris has joined Suffolk Construction Co. of West Palm Beach as its new proposal manager. Harris most recently worked as marketing manager for Kaufman Lynn General Contractors in Boca Raton.

Newcomb & Boyd, the Atlanta-based consulting and engineering firm, announced the following additions to the firm: Lindsey A. Ewing, a recent graduate of the Georgia Institute of Technology, has joined the firm as a mechanical engineer; Hakim S. Saahir, previously with United Technology Services, has joined the firm as an audio-visual engineer; Taylor L. Frierson, an undergrad at Georgia Tech, has joined the firm as an intern; and Yu Zuo has joined the accounting department.

Anna Landman, James Moore and Sara Poindexter were each promoted to the position of senior project engineer at MSCW, an Orlando-based design firm. A graduate of the Florida Institute of Technology, Landman has worked with MSCW for more than five years.

Moore, with the firm since 2004 when he started as a project engineer, will work on MSCW’s the transportation team. Poindexter, who will be working on the planning and engineering team, is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin. She has worked with MSCW for more than five years.

Robbyn Spears was promoted to senior project manager assistant for J.L. Wallace, a commercial construction firm in Fort Myers, Fla. In this new role, she will be responsible for training all project manager assistants. She is also executive assistant to Fred Barry, chief operating officer.

She has 10 years of experience as a project manager assistant.

Metz & Associates, a bridge engineering firm based in Oviedo, Fla., hired Juan A. Valenzuela and Kenneth B. Ray as structural engineers.

Leah Forero has joined RS&H of Tampa as a senior drainage engineer in the firm’s transportation and public infrastructure programs. She has 10 years of experience in water resources engineering.

Leesa Ann Nero was promoted to vice president of operations for Elements Architects and Interior Designers in Tampa. In addition to her existing duties as director of interior design, Nero will provide leadership for all operational aspects of the firm.

Additionally, the firm has hired Gary Smith as director of architecture.

Jacqueline Smith has been named marketing assistant at Roepnack Corp. in Pompano Beach, Fla. She has roughly 20 years of experience in marketing and public relations.
