Daniel M. DuPree was elected president and chief operating officer of Cousins Properties of Atlanta. DuPree previously served as vice chairman since 2003, when he rejoined Cousins after serving as CEO of Atlanta-based Barry Real Estate Cos. In his new capacity, he will continue to oversee the company’s real estate development operations and will continue to report to Chairman and CEO Tom Bell.


Matthew J. Allen was named executive vice president and chief operating officer of The Related Group in Miami. Allen has been with Related for more than seven years and most recently served as executive vice president and chief financial officer.


Skanska USA Building has promoted three company executives in its Atlanta office. Mark Allnutt was promoted to account manager and senior vice president, and both Brian Murray and Tim York were named vice president and operations leader.

Allnutt previously served as vice president and project executive. Murray was previously vice president of operations in Jacksonville, Fla. York oversees construction projects in Memphis, Tenn., as well as at the Shands/University of Florida Cancer Hospital in Gainesville.

Also, the company hired Mark Thomas as a project executive in its Durham, N.C., office, where he’ll oversee the Biomanufacturing Training and Education Center project at North Carolina State University in Raleigh.

Jessie Brewer has joined James B. Pirtle Construction Co. in Davie, Fla., as vice president. He previously worked out of Skanska USA Building’s Charlotte office as co-chief operating officer and president of its Carolinas/Virginia division.


Lisa Gibson has joined Baker Barrios Architects in Tampa as director of business development. She will be responsible for developing new business in the Southwest Florida area and will assist in the firm’s overall marketing activities.


Len Sanderson, formerly state highway administrator for the North Carolina Department of Transportation, has been named a senior principal engineer at PB in Morrisville, N.C., near Raleigh.

Sanderson comes to PB following a 36-year career with NCDOT’s Division of Highways.

Donald M. Marks, president of Form Works in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., was elected president of the American Society of Concrete Contractors at its recent annual board meeting. Clay Fischer of Jupiter, Fla., was elected vice president; and Glen Shamblen of Tampa was elected secretary/treasurer. Ian Blair of Wilmington, N.C., was among those newly elected to ASCC’s board of directors.


PBS&J of Tampa has appointed senior vice president Clarence E. Anthony as chief marketing officer. He assumes overall leadership for business development and marketing.

Additionally, Greg M. Goodwin has joined PBS&J as a senior vice president and national business development director. Also, Monica M. Cepero has joined the firm as manager of strategic positioning and public affairs for the state of Florida.

William (Bill) S. McCalmont has joined The St. Joe Co. in Jacksonville, Fla., as chief financial officer. He replaces Michael N. Regan, who had previously announced his plans to retire in September 2007.


Carla Starr has been named a firm principal at Mulkey Engineers & Consultants in Raleigh, N.C. She started with the company in 2003, and was most recently promoted to director of administrative services.


TLC Engineering for Architecture of Orlando announced six new staffers. Steve Rollin is an associate and senior electrical engineer at the firm’s Deerfield Beach, Fla., office; Aaron Johnson is a mechanical graduate engineer in the health-care division in Orlando; and Carlos Camacho is an electrical engineer in Orlando.

Also, Bill Bretnall has joined the firm’s structural division in Orlando as a senior structural project engineer. Michael Baluyot has joined the Deerfield Beach office as an electrical graduate engineer. Jeffrey Stone has joined the Jacksonville office as a mechanical graduate engineer.

Jane Johnson has joined BJAC in Raleigh, N.C., as a project manager in the health-care division. She brings 30 years of industry experience to BJAC.

Also, Linda Kulka, director of interiors, has founded the Carolina Healthcare Interior Design Group. The group meets quarterly to discuss issues that designers face in North and South Carolina related to the interior design of health-care buildings.

Dwight Jones was named executive vice president and chief operating officer for Atlanta-based The Facility Group’s Facility Program Management division.


HNTB Corp. of Jacksonville, Fla., announced the following additions to its Jacksonville office: Barry Gondron has joined as a senior project manager for rail in the transportation department. Terrel Shaw has joined as the manager of the transportation planning department.

In Tampa, Kurtis Keller has joined HNTB as a CADD technician. Also, Hector Martinez was promoted to engineer II in the firm’s Intelligent Transportation Systems department.

Henry Batten, executive vice president of Concrete Supply Co. in Charlotte, N.C., has been elected secretary/treasurer of the National Ready Mixed Concrete Association of Silver Spring, Md.

Batten joined Concrete Supply Co. in 1998 and has also been chief financial officer and vice president of finance.

Finley Engineering Group, the Tallahassee, Fla.-based bridge engineering and construction consultant, added three principals to its management team: Daniel A. Dock, Cheryl R. “Sherry” Martin and Jerry M. Pfuntner.

Dock will serve as vice president of engineering. As vice president of finance and administration, Martin is responsible for all operations and professional support activities. Pfuntner, previously with the Florida Department of Transportation, is a senior bridge engineer.

Mike Dell’Isola has joined Faithful+Gould in Orlando as senior vice president. Dell’Isola spent more than 15 years with Faithful+Gould previously and rejoins the company to drive business development and marketing efforts for the Florida market.


Dennis Wise was named project developer for Bobbitt Design Build, a Raleigh, N.C.-based general contractor specializing in design-build. Wise is responsible for business development in eastern North Carolina.

Bobbitt also announced the addition of Jackson Bratton as landscape architect.

David J. Cliff has been named senior project manager at McMahon Associates, a transportation engineering and planning firm in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.


Holly Alexander was named director of business development for Concorde Construction Co. in Charlotte. She has more than 8 years of industry marketing experience.


Clint Curby has joined Roger B. Kennedy in Altamonte Springs, Fla., as a senior project manager. He has 25 years of construction industry experience.


Cormac Giblin has joined WilsonMiller in Naples, Fla., as project manager. He previously spent 10 years as a planner and manager in Collier County’s housing division.


Tom Donaudy has joined Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, Fla., as vice president for facilities and as university architect, a position he has occupied on an interim basis for the past year.


Johnny Sturkie was promoted to senior project manager at Robins & Morton in Orlando. Sturkie has worked in the construction industry since 1996.


Joe Champion has returned to Ellis & Associates of Jacksonville, Fla., as transportation services project manager.

The company also added John Edens as a senior geotechnical engineer, focusing on foundation design.

Joanna Del Moral, director of marketing and new business development with the Orlando office of VOA Associates, was promoted to senior associate.

Also, Daryl LeBlanc and Thomas Matzke were promoted to the position of senior vice president, and Craig Livingston and Iris Zayas were promoted to vice president.

The following VOA staffers were promoted to the position of associate: Monica Keane, interior designer; David Lee, project architect; and Brittany Williams, marketing coordinator.

Ross Andersen has joined the Miami office of Novum Structures as eastern regional sales manager. He has more than 18 years of commercial construction sales experience. The company is a specialty contractor for high-technology spatial architectural structures and enclosures.


Sara DeBerry has joined AIM Engineering & Surveying in Tampa as a transportation planner. She will work in AIM’s project development and environment unit.


Inwood Consulting Engineers of Oviedo, Fla., announced the following appointments: Co-Co Wu was named senior engineer; Jennifer Cairns was named planner; Sophia Hollimon was hired as marketing coordinator; and Jesse Agnew was appointed as a CADD technician.


Scotte Miciotto has been promoted at Palmer Electric Co. in Winter Park, Fla., to the position of project manager. He has been with Palmer for more than three years.


Eugene Parker has joined Community Engineering Services in Fort Myers, Fla., as crew chief. He has more than 20 years of industry experience. Mark Caile was named party chief, overseeing the survey crew.


Juan Ochoa has joined Hanson Roof Tile’s marketing team in Deerfield Beach, Fla. He will oversee the company’s nationwide marketing efforts nationwide. Hanson Roof Tile is a manufacturer of concrete roof tile.
