William Larrison has joined Tri-City
Electrical Contractors as estimating manager in the company's
Fort Myers division. A 31-year veteran in the electrical construction
field, Larrison previously served as senior estimator in the
Tampa division.
Wayne S. Baswell has joined the Atlanta office of Skanska
USA Building as an account manager. He is responsible for
overseeing all health-care work generated by the Atlanta office
and developing new business opportunities.
Baswell previously was responsible for health-care sales
and marketing in the Southeast for Turner Construction Co.'s
Atlanta office.
Also, Robin Freiberger has joined the Orlando office of Skanska
USA Building as a senior director of business development.
Freiberger has 10 years of business development experience,
and most recently served as director of business development
for Centex Construction's health-care group.
Jim Callen has joined the Florida division of Clancy &
Theys Construction Co. of Orlando as senior estimator. Callen
has 23 years of commercial construction experience.
David Gwynn , a vice president, has assumed the role of division
operations officer for the Southeast division of HNTB Corp.
in Lake Mary, Fla. The division covers Florida, Georgia, South
Carolina, North Carolina, Alabama, West Virginia, Virginia,
Maryland, and Washington, D.C.
Succeeding Gwynn as the Lake Mary office leader will be Kent
Black . Black is a vice president.
Vernice Atkins-Bradley of Turner Construction Co. , Orlando,
has been recognized with the company's Peter J. Davoren award
for Outstanding Service in Community Affairs for 2006. Atkins-Bradley,
who serves as the director of community affairs and business
development for the Orlando business unit, was presented this
award at the company's annual management meeting.
Peter J. Davoren , who serves as Turner Construction's President
and CEO, presents one community affairs award each year to
the community affairs director who demonstrates excellence
in community service, community leadership and relationship-building
with community leaders.
In addition, the community affairs director that is selected
for the award must initiate community affairs programs that
have brought positive media publicity to the business unit
as well as establish a successful youth program within the
community and successfully compete the Turner School of Construction
Management.
Tracey Curl , marketing director for Suffolk Construction
Co. of West Palm Beach, was recently recognized with the company's
top honor. The Core Value Award, given once a year, recognizes
the employee who consistently epitomizes the company's four
core values: passion, integrity, hard work and professionalism.
Curl joined Suffolk in 2001 as marketing coordinator and
was quickly promoted to manage the marketing department for
the Florida division.
Suffolk Construction Co. President and General Manager Rex
B. Kirby said, "Tracey goes above and beyond to uphold
the core values that we hold in high regard at Suffolk. She
sets the bar for the entire staff and consistently gives 110
percent."
Bruce Craven has joined BE&K Engineering Co. 's bio-pharma
group as director of validation for North Carolina. Based
in Raleigh, N.C., Craven is charged with leading validation
and commissioning efforts for the company's biotechnology,
pharmaceutical and medical device industries projects in the
Southeast. Birmingham-based BE&K currently provides engineering,
construction management and consultation services to these
markets.
Glenn Walters , a landscape architect, has rejoined Design
Workshop of Asheville, N.C., as a principal. Walters recently
graduated from Pennsylvania State University with a master's
degree in landscape architecture.
Ellen J. Bisogno and Joseph Tote have joined Owen-Ames-Kimball
Co. in Naples, Fla., as project managers. Bisogno has 20 years
of experience in the construction industry, and Tote has 15
years of building industry experience.
The company also promoted Danny Trueblood and Matthew Hoffman
from assistant superintendent to the position of superintendent.
Trueblood has been employed by OAK since 1998, and had served
as assistant superintendent since 2004.
Hoffman joined OAK this year as an assistant superintendent
from a Fort Myers-based development company, where he was
responsible for job site supervision of commercial structures.
Additionally, Sherry Schreier was promoted from manager of
administrative services to vice president of administrative
services and human relations. Jan Conrad was promoted from
accounting assistant to supervisor of accounting services.
Comprehensive Energy Services of Altamonte Springs, Fla.,
has hired Donald Smeller as a project manager for the firm's
mechanical construction group, and Jonathan Romberg and Michael
Laney as account executives. Smeller has 25 years of mechanical
contracting experience. Romberg will represent and market
CES Facility Services to Central Florida's facility owners
and managers. Laney will represent CES Facility Services to
Orlando's commercial real estate owners and property management
markets.
Don Stebbins has joined Palmer Electric Co. of Winter Park,
Fla., as vice president-residential construction. Stebbins
oversees the company's residential division, which services
production builders of single-family residences and townhomes,
as well as custom builders of larger homes.
Stebbins joined the company in 1992, and most recently served
as residential division manager.
Gary Tenn has joined Carter & Burgess as a senior project
manager for land development in the firm's Fort Lauderdale
office.
Tenn has 27 years of experience in planning, design and project
management of land development projects in South Florida.
Rodrigo Pigna has joined Lockwood, Andrews & Newnam of
Miami as the director of engineering. In this role, Pigna
will oversee the management and operation of LAN's professional
planning and engineering practice in the South Florida region.
Pigna has more than 19 years of engineering experience.
LAN is a Leo A. Daly company, an international architecture,
planning, engineering and interior design firm based in Omaha,
Neb.
Norman D. Wagner has joined the Charlotte office of HDR as
a senior transportation estimator. He will be responsible
for all transportation estimating for HDR Design-Build, HDR's
design-build operating company.
Wagner has more than 35 years of experience in the construction
industry and an extensive background in construction engineering,
estimating and management of heavy civil and transportation
projects. He previously worked for Granite Construction Co.
Jason Emmons has joined the Fort Myers, Fla., office of Community
Engineering Services as a CADD technician. He will be responsible
for creating engineering plans for projects in Southwest Florida.
Also, Pete Kalka joined the Fort Myers office as business
director.
Eleanor W. Taft has been named vice president and general
counsel at Collier Enterprises in Naples, Fla. Taft will direct
all legal affairs for the company, including corporate policies
and procedures, risk management, records management and administration,
and corporate entities. She comes to Collier Enterprises from
The Ryland Group, Inc., where she served as regional real
estate counsel for the Southeastern United States.
Naples-based Collier Enterprises is engaged in real estate
investment and development, agribusiness and private equity.
Charles "Chip" Cogswell and Ethan Milley have been
promoted to regional directors in the Atlanta office of Jones
Lang LaSalle , the global real estate services and money management
firm. Cogswell will lead the health-care specialty practice
nationally for the firm's project and development services
group
Milley will lead project management teams throughout the
eastern U.S. for corporate clients.
Stephen H. Mauldin has joined real estate firm Crosland of
Charlotte, N.C., as senior vice president of mixed/multi-use
development.
In this new position, Mauldin is responsible for strategic
planning of Crosland's mixed- and multi-use initiatives in
the Charlotte region.
