Michael R. Pack has joined
the Atlanta office of architectural/engineering firm HDR
as marketing manager. His responsibilities include business
development of engineering, planning and surveying services.
Prior to joining HDR, Pack was commissioner of public works
for the city of. He also served as interim general manager
of the Department of Aviation for Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta
International Airport. He has more than 30 years of engineering,
marketing and management experience.
In HDR's Jacksonville, Fla., office, Crystal
Markley was named "Young Engineer of the Year"
by the Florida chapter of the American Society of Civil Engineers.
She was previously named Northeast Florida's Young Engineer
of the Year by a consortium of northeast Florida engineering
societies.
Greg Dills has joined Choate
Construction Co. of Atlanta as head of its water/wastewater
construction division. Dills is a graduate of Clemson University
and has more than 22 years of construction experience, primarily
in water and wastewater treatment plants throughout the Southeast.
Theresa R. Carron was promoted
to the position of project manager with WilsonMiller's
civil engineering unit in Tallahassee, Fla. Carron is a three-year
veteran of WilsonMiller.
Karin Murphy, a seven-year
veteran planner for the City of Sarasota, has joined WilsonMiller's
Sarasota office as senior project manager.
Murphy's credentials include more than 10 years of public-sector
planning experience, most recently in the positions of redevelopment
specialist and senior planner for the City of Sarasota.
Philip W. Kremp has been appointed
branch manager of the Tampa office of QORE
Property Sciences, based in Duluth, Ga. Kremp has experience
in geotechnical engineering and construction materials testing.
Angela Lane has joined Batson-Cook
Co. in Jacksonville, Fla., as its new business development
manager. Lane is charged with public relations and expanding
new construction opportunities for the firm in northeast Florida.
She previously worked as director of membership services and
tourism for the St. John's County Chamber of Commerce.
John D' Annunzio, formerly
chief operating officer of Independent Roof
Testing and Consulting Services in Fort Lauderdale,
is now president and sole proprietor of IRT.
Under his leadership, IRT is expanding its material testing
and design support services with additional offices in Mississippi,
Puerto Rico and Michigan.
IRT provides material testing for roofing and waterproofing
systems. Former IRT owner Bob Tedder
will serve as a consultant with the company.
Bruce Mosteller was promoted
to managing director and associate vice president of design
firm Wimberly Allison Tong & Goo's offices in Orlando.
Additionally, Mark Yoshizaki was
promoted to associate vice president, and Scott
Brown and Susan Bruce
were named associates.
Mosteller has more than 20 years of architectural experience
in the hospitality and entertainment industry.
Prior to joining WATG in 1996, Yoshizaki worked with Walt
Disney Imagineering in Glendale, Calif., where he was involved
in concept and schematic design work for various Disney resorts.
Brown joined WATG's Orlando office in 2003. He has more than
10 years of architectural experience. Bruce has over 10 years
of experience in the hospitality, timeshare and entertainment
industries.
Mechanical Services Inc. of
Orlando appointed Lyle Adams,
Donny Baty and Al
Maciek as project managers in its Projects Group.
Also, Shane Smith was named
supervisor of building automation, while Larry
Mixon was appointed manager, sheet metal shop.
Robert M. Thompson was appointed
construction executive for Boca Raton-based RPC
Holdings, developers of the high-rise Paramount properties.
Thompson will be working on Paramount Beach, the company's
oceanfront development in Sunny Isles Beach.
Prior to joining Paramount, he spent 10 years as chief operating
officer and president at Alcon Associates. He also served
as South Florida regional project executive for Turner Construction
Co.
Also, Michael Neumann was named
vice president of sales and marketing for the firm. He has
more than 25 years of experience in the luxury real estate
sales and marketing industry.
Rex D. Huffman has been promoted
to president of Gibbs & Register,
a civil/site work contractor headquartered in Orlando. Former
president John W. Gibbs will
assume the role of chairman and CEO.
Ken Rhyne recently joined the
Atlanta office of Baker Barrios Architects
as director of special projects.
J.J. Wolfe joined Catalfumo
Construction and Development of Palm Beach Gardens,
Fla., as a senior vice president. He has more than 25 years
of experience in South Florida's building industry, and previously
worked with Catalfumo Construction from 1993 to 2001.
David Howell has joined the
Tampa office of HNTB Corp. as
an ITS project manager. The firm promoted Tim
Garrett to office manager of its Tampa West office
and Steve Bahler was promoted
to the Tampa ITS department director.
Also, Joe LaVoie has joined
HNTB Federal Services Corp. in Arlington, Va., as vice president
and Southeast division federal market sector leader. He will
oversee the company's Southeast division, which includes Florida,
Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, West Virginia, Virginia
and Washington, D.C.
In Miami, the firm made several personnel announcements.
Albert Sosa, HNTB's Miami senior
project engineer, will be assuming the role of office marketing
manager. Also, Angel Reanos
joined HNTB as an intelligent transportation systems engineer
in the Miami traffic engineering department.
Daphne Antoine joined HNTB's
Miami transportation department as a program controls specialist.
In the same department, Sandra Herdocia
was named program control manager. Also in the transportation
department, Gabriel Perez was
hired as a project engineer.
Also, Dat Huynh joined HNTB's
Miami planning department as a project development manager.
Frank Campbell was promoted
to director of interior architecture at HuntonBrady
Architects in Orlando. Campbell designs many of the
firm's commercial interior architecture projects. His 19 years
of experience extends to aviation, hospitality, corporate,
retail, municipal, educational and cultural work.
Taras Diakiwski was promoted
to vice president of The Weitz Co.
in West Palm Beach. Diakiwski has 15 years of construction
industry experience and has been with the firm for more than
five years.
WFI, a San Diego-based firm
specializing in the design, deployment and management of wireless
communication networks, information technology solutions and
security systems, announced a new management team for its
regional office in Atlanta.
The new management team includes Steve
Cory, general manager; Everett
Cope, vice president of sales; Buck
Shaffer, director of operations; Jim
Tibbs, director of service; and Bill
Bennett, controller.
Additionally, WFI added the following as project managers:
Todd Reed, Jimmy
Ryan, Phillip Major and
Irvin Gilcrease.
Scott Simpson was promoted
to construction materials testing laboratory supervisor at
the Jacksonville headquarters of engineering firm Ellis
& Associates. He has been with the firm for four
years.
Luis Roman was hired as an
architectural designer at The Scott
Partnership Architecture and Interiors of Orlando.
The firm also added Kendra Cassell
and Jeanine Gagliano to its
business development team. Jessica
Hanley was hired as a marketing coordinator.
Also, Ameenah Williams has
been hired as a CAD technician.
Todd S. Hill has been named
principal engineer/project manager at MACTEC
Engineering & Consulting in the firm's Kennesaw,
Ga., office. He is managing a number of civil/site design
and regional mixed-use development projects.
Thomas Adams was promoted to
vice president for the Carolinas division of DeVere
Construction Co. In his new role, Adams will be responsible
for the strategic and operational growth objectives for North
Carolina and South Carolina.
Adams has over 25 years of experience in senior level management
positions in the construction industry.
David Keith was named project
engineer for Community Engineering
Services of Fort Myers. Keith's responsibilities include
site development design, project applications and construction
plan preparation.
Mark Texter was also hired
in the Fort Myers office. His responsibilities include overseeing
the completion and accuracy of all surveying services.
Kenneth Roosth was named director
of business development for Roosth
Construction, where he will be responsible for sales
and marketing.
The company also hired Jack Cappellar
as director of development, responsible for locating potential
development sites. Cappellar was formerly responsible for
site development with Texaco.
Additionally, Jay Zuckerman
was promoted from project manager to vice president of construction/operations.
Frank Bell was promoted by
Owen-Ames-Kimball Co. to the
position of general superintendent. He will be primarily responsible
for Charlotte County area projects.
Maureen F. Nichols was appointed
president of ep3, an environmental
engineering firm headquartered in Winter Park, Fla. Nichols,
a founder of the firm, has more than 16 years of experience
in the environmental industry.
Gary Kreisler, regional marketing
director of Clancy & Theys Construction
Co., Orlando, was elected to the national board of
directors of the National Association of Industrial and Office
Properties, headquartered in Herndon, Va. A 13-year board
member of the NAIOP Central Florida chapter, Kreisler also
served as chapter president in 1997 and as state president
in 1998.
Brian Devlin has joined the
Tampa office of Trammell Crow Co. as
vice president of real estate services. Devlin will provide
strategic counsel to clients regarding landlord representation
of high-end office space.
Before joining Trammell Crow, Devlin was a principal with
MacKenzie Equity Partners in Annapolis, Md.
Woolbright Development of Boca
Raton, Fla., announced it has added James
F. Hanson, Jr., construction manager, and Chuck
Coster, property manager, to its operations team.
Hanson, who will be based in Woolbright's Orlando office,
has more than 20 years of construction and operations experience.
He was previously a senior project manager with Southern Construction
Group in Orlando.
Coster, who has more than 25 years of experience in the commercial
real estate industry, will be based in Port Charlotte, Fla.
B. Allen West was named vice
president of Tecbuild, a construction
services firm headquartered in Altamonte Springs, Fla. West
has 30 years of experience in the construction industry.
MSCW, an Orlando-based planning,
design and civil engineering firm, has named Ryan
Blaida as project manager with its transportation department.
Blaida joined MSCW in 2000 as a project engineer.
