A.B. Robinson has joined Skanska
USA Building as corporate senior vice president of
health, safety and environmental. Robinson is responsible
for leading the company's health, safety and environmental
programs, including strategic planning and expansion of its
Injury-Free Environment initiative. He will work out of Skanska
offices in Charlotte, N.C.
Robinson has more than 27 years of construction industry
experience and was most recently employed by the Fluor Corp.,
where he was a vice president responsible for health, safety
and environmental, and worker's compensation programs globally.
Skanska USA Building's Atlanta
office announced that Rob Ward
was appointed vice president of business development and Elton
"Al" Gogolin has been named director of business
development.
Ward was previously director of business development at the
company's Rockville, Md., office. As director of business
development, Gogolin is responsible for growing the company's
construction business of corporate headquarters, high-rise
towers and high-end hotel and resort projects.
David J. Knotts has joined
Atlanta-based Cousins Properties
as vice president-development in its retail division. Knotts
will oversee the development of planned Avenue and MarketCenter
projects. He has more than 20 years of development and construction
experience.
Creative Contractors of Clearwater,
Fla., recently promoted Todd Pope,
Ali Clutter and Jeffrey
Willett to the position of project manager. Pope has
been with the company for seven years, while Clutter and Willett
each have five years with Creative.
MGE Architects of Coral Gables,
Fla., announced that Jorge Alonso,
Lenny Padron, Maryann
Pando-Avdakov, David Simon,
Patricia Rice-Spivey and Robert
Gil have been promoted to the position of associate.
Jack Finn, national toll services
leader for HNTB Corp., has relocated
to the firm's offices in Lake Mary, Fla. The relocation comes
as HNTB experiences growth in the need for toll services throughout
Florida and the Southeast.
Finn has been with HNTB for nearly 30 years and comes to
Central Florida from the firm's Fairfield, N.J., office, where
has served as the Northeast division president and national
toll services leader for the past three years.
In Florida, Finn will continue to lead HNTB's toll services
nationally as well as guide the Florida and Southeast toll
services groups.
Daniel E. Finch was recently
promoted to preconstruction manager at Suffolk
Construction Co. in West Palm Beach. Also, Jeff L.
McCoy was promoted to general superintendent. Finch previously
worked as a project manager. McCoy previously served as a
superintendent
John Cleveland was promoted
to president of Cleveland Electric
Co. of Atlanta. Cleveland began his career with Cleveland
Electric in 1990 and most recently worked as vice president
of operations.
Andrés E. Núñez,
Jr. has joined engineering, construction and operations
firm CH2M Hill's Tampa office
as a senior transportation engineer and regional market segment
leader for highway and bridge projects in the Southeast.
Prior to joining CH2M HILL, Núñez was a founding
principal of TEI Engineers and Planners.
Tara Klinger has joined the
Florida division of Clancy & Theys
Construction Co. in Orlando as accounting manager.
Clancy & Theys operates five divisions in the Southeast,
including offices in Orlando and Charlotte, Raleigh and Wilmington,
N.C.
Giovanni Delcompare has joined
WilsonMiller's office in Naples,
Fla., as a land planner. In the firm's Tampa office, Zhuo
"Linda" Yu has joined WilsonMiller as a transportation
planner.
Yvette London was recently
promoted from vice president to senior vice president at Harvard
Jolly Inc. in Fort Lauderdale.
Melissa Wride joined The
Scott Partnership Architecture and Interiors of Orlando
as a graphic designer. The firm also hired Jason Kaufman and
David Nicks as project coordinators. Additionally, Jennifer
Szabo was hired as a marketing coordinator.
Glenn K. Olson was named national
telecom sales director for MACTEC Engineering
& Consulting of Alpharetta, Ga. He will be responsible
for government telecom sales.
Margarita Morales has joined
Collins Engineers as regional
manager of the firm's Kissimmee, Fla., office. Morales previously
served as a project manager with Wilbur Smith Associates.
Scott Heyser was promoted from
field superintendent to project manager at Andrew General
Contractors in Orlando. He has more than 20 years of construction
experience.
MSCW added 11 new staff members
in its Orlando and Stuart, Fla., offices.
In Orlando, Venus Smith and
Lindsay Hendersin have joined
the civil engineering and planning team as staff engineers.
Serena Stafford joined the transportation
team as staff engineer.
Also in the civil engineering and planning group, Mike
Haynes was hired as project manager and Kathleen
Quillinan was named to the position of planner. On
the environmental team, Jessica Dostal
was hired as an associate scientist, and Josephine
Miller was named senior GIS technician.
Stephanie Appel joined the
landscape architecture group. Susan
Coschigano was named senior recruiter in the human
resources department.
In Stuart, Samantha Horowitz was
hired as community planner on the civil engineering and planning
team, and Chuck Walsey was named
manager of client services.
SkyeTec, a Florida-based indoor
environmental consulting firm, announced that Gregg
Taylor was named chief operations officer. Initially
hired as a consultant to SkyeTec, Taylor has been instrumental
in managing SkyeTec's roughly 200 percent growth over the
past two years.
Also, Cyndi Rooks was named
human resources manager. Her experience includes restructuring
compensation and salary administration programs, implementing
medical and health coverage based on employee needs, restructuring
benefit programs, designing and implementing corporate training
programs, and coordinating implementation of a career program
for associates and executive managers.
Robert D. Bartos was named
director of marketing for the Carolinas division of DeVere
Construction Co. He will be based out of the company's
offices in Apex, N.C.
Craig Edwards was named regional
sales manager for VP Buildings'
Southeast region, which includes Florida, Georgia, North Carolina
and South Carolina. Based in Memphis, VP Buildings engineers
and manufactures steel building systems for low-rise commercial
applications.
Allen Peacock has joined Taurus
Southern Investments, Orlando, as project manager -
development. His responsibilities involve development coordination
for horizontal and vertical projects. He previously served
as project manager for CNL Retirement Properties, Orlando.
Owen-Ames-Kimball Co. of Fort
Myers has hired Michael S. Biagi
and Kenneth A. Gentry as project
managers. Biagi has more than 33 years of project management
experience internationally. Gentry has more than 20 years
of experience in the construction industry.
Greg Miller has joined The
ADP Group, a Sarasota-based architecture, interior
design, and planning firm as its accountant.
Douglas P. Eagon of Stiles
Corp., Fort Lauderdale, was recently recognized with
the "Distinguished Citizen of the Year" award by
the City of Fort Lauderdale. This award is given to a resident
of the community who has contributed to its progress over
a number of years.
An urban planner by training, Eagon has served the community
for more than two decades as an advocate of Fort Lauderdale's
emergence as a vibrant business, residential, and cultural
environment.
