Trey Shaw has joined KJM & Associates of Atlanta as chief estimator for the $480 million Consolidated Rent-A-Car facility project at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. Shaw has 29 years of cost estimating experiencing with several general contractors.


Robert A. (Bob) Chapman has been named a principal with Walter P. Moore. Chapman has more than 17 years of experience in the parking consulting and design field.


Brett Fortune, of Fortune-Johnson General Contractors, was recently elected chairman of the board of the Association Builders and Contractors of Georgia.

Other officers for ABC of Georgia include: chairman-elect - Mike Doyle, J.K. Lockwood Construction Co.; immediate past chairman - Scott Unger, Constructware; vice chairman - Jeff George, Centex Construction Co.; treasurer - John Beilsmith, Navigator CPA Group; and president - Bill Anderson.

Directors for 2006 include: David Black of Lafarge North America; Russ Brockelbank of Hardin Construction Co.; Kevin Burchfield, VCC Atlanta; Barry Compton of H.J. Russell & Co.; Kevin Grass, Noble Investment Group; Mike Hardin of Harcon; Les Juneau, Juneau Construction Co.; Tom Schwarzer of Berkel & Co. Contractors; Stuart Scruggs, Ivey Mechanical Co.; Sam Stiteler of Top South; and Chelly Young of Apparel Manufacturing Co.


David L. Fry has been appointed chief operating officer, traditional homebuilding and real estate services, for WCI Communities of Bonita Springs, Fla. He will be responsible for all traditional homebuilding operations nationwide. Fry joined the company in 1995 and will continue to be a senior vice president.

Also, Christopher J. Hanlon was named chief operating officer, tower homebuilding and senior vice president, responsible for all of WCI's tower operations nationwide. He joined WCI in 1991.

James P. Dietz has been named executive vice president. He will retain his position as chief financial officer.

Additionally, Linda Gustafson has joined Prudential Florida WCI Realty in Aventura, Fla. Gustafson previously worked for the past five years as a community representative for WCI's BellaMare at Williams Island and One Bal Harbour projects.


Michael P. Oates has been named as vice president - human resources for Florida Rock Industries in Jacksonville. Oates joined the company in 2004 as director of human resources.


William Gardner was recently promoted to executive vice president at Dana B. Kenyon Co. in Jacksonville, Fla. Gardner has 28 years of construction experience, and has been with Dana B. Kenyon for the nine years.

Joseph Bajalia was promoted to senior vice president of the company's commercial and industrial division. A 12-year company veteran, Bajalia has more than 30 years of industry experience.

Also, Timothy Bonczek was named vice president of construction operations, and Gregg Munn was named vice president of the hospitality, residential and senior living division. Bonczek has 25 years of industry experience, while Munn brings 16 years of residential experience to the position.

Rusty White, a nine-year veteran of Dana B. Kenyon Co., was named director of business development.


Adam Nguyen has joined the Lee County Port Authority in Fort Myers, Fla., as senior manager of engineering and construction for Southwest Florida International Airport and Page Field General Aviation Airport. He is responsible for project management of aviation design and construction services. He previously served as senior project manager with the City of Fort Myers.

Also, James E. Rose was named department director of airport business services for the Lee County Port Authority. He will direct contract and leasing functions related to Port Authority properties He also is responsible for directing Southwest Florida International Airport's passenger and air cargo service program activities.


William L. Walker has joined C.T. Hsu + Associates of Orlando as a senior project manager. He has more than 30 years of industry experience.

Also, the firm promoted Rene Alvarez to senior associate. He has worked in the planning and design field for nearly 20 years, including project experience in Asia, the Middle East, Europe and the U.S.

Hector Torres-Oyola was promoted to associate architect. Previously a project manager with the firm, he has 22 years of experience in project management and design.


Mark Lippert has joined The ADP Group of Sarasota, Fla., as a planner associate. His expertise includes urban planning, transportation modeling, congestion management systems and geographic information systems. Prior to joining ADP he worked for URS and the Atlanta Regional Commission in Atlanta.


Tim Miles was promoted to vice president of Mechanical Services Inc.'s Project Group in Orlando. He previously served as the director for the group, which provides design/build, mechanical construction and renovation services. MSI also promoted named Daulton Wright to director of service operations for Central Florida and the Space Coast.

Also, Chris Bartkus was hired as superintendent for MSI's Tampa Bay/Florida West Coast division office in Clearwater.


Steven Reichel has been hired as superintendent with the Florida Division of Clancy & Theys Construction Co. in Orlando. He has over 20 years of commercial construction experience.


Ayres Associates of Tampa recently promoted Elizabeth Franks to the position of project manager. The company also announced several new hires, which included: Terri Becraft as senior designer in Tampa; Lianwu Liu, water resources engineer intern; and Patricia Dooris as senior project manager.

Additionally, the company expanded the management role of Daniel Kelly to include all Tampa transportation engineering services.


Christopher P. Meyer has been appointed the new geotechnical services department manager at Geotechnical and Environmental Consultants in Orlando. Also, Michael A. Orcino was named environmental services department manager.


Joseph Martin has been named customer service coordinator for the Orlando branch of CORE Construction. He has more than 20 years of experience managing commercial contracting services.


Shawn Eaton joined HNTB Corp.'s Jacksonville, Fla., office as an engineer in the transportation department. Eaton has more than six years of experience in transportation and drainage design.

Also, Samir Parab joined the firm as an engineer I in the Jacksonville office's planning department.


Matthew O'Brien has been named manager of the new Burlington, N.C., office of Environmental Services Inc., an environmental consulting firm with offices throughout the Southeast.

ESI specializes in ecological services, including soil mapping and evaluations, wetlands delineations/permitting, endangered and threatened species studies, forestry/land management, stream restoration, GIS, and archeological studies.


The Stellar Group of Jacksonville recently announced several personnel appointments.

Raja Saoud has joined the commercial division as construction project manager. Vimal Guru has also joined the commercial division as design project manager. Allen Mathis has joined the process division as a mechanical engineer. Also, Parrish Braud was appointed scheduling manager.

Andy Dufresne has joined the construction field services division as senior construction superintendent.

Also, John Bassford has been named credit manager in the accounting division. David Wilharm has joined the IT department as an enterprise resource planning business analyst.


Cuhaci & Peterson, an Orlando-based architectural firm, recently named Roy Berklund as project manager and Scott Thomas as senior electrical engineer.


Craig Allen and Jerry Pfuntner have joined bridge engineering and construction consultant Finley Engineering Group of Tallahassee, Fla., as senior bridge engineers. Allen and Pfuntner rejoin FEG founder Craig Finley, whom they worked with previously as members of Finley McNary Engineers and the Parsons Corp.

Allen has more than 15 years of national and international experience, including serving as project manager on the Memorial Causeway Bridge Retrofit in Clearwater, Fla. Prior to joining FEG, Jerry Pfuntner was with the Florida Department of Transportation, where he served as the area structures engineer in Districts 1 and 6.


Kevin M. Hoeflich has been named program director of the PBS&J general consultant program for Florida's Turnpike Enterprise. He succeeds Stephen W. Austin, who is moving into the company's national tolls technology division as a senior consultant.


David Woshinsky was named junior designer at Borges + Associates, a Miami-based architecture and interior design firm. He is a former land development technician for the city of Miami.


Vincent Stewart has joined Horizon Engineering Associates as regional manager of the firm's new Carrboro, N.C., office. Stewart has more than 20 years of industry experience and will oversee the company's commissioning, engineering and consulting services.


Doug French was recently named vice president for business development and asset management at Thompson Pump & Manufacturing Co. of Port Orange, Fla. Chris Thompson, son of company president Bill Thompson, was named vice president for branch operations. Longtime Thompson Pump employee Del Ritz was named Florida region manager.

French, formerly vice president for branch operations, will oversee all facilities and major assets while managing growth and expansion.

Thompson now focuses on three regions including the Gulf Coast, Southeast and Florida, covering factory-owned branch locations and distributor territories.


Matthew Butterworth has joined Ellis & Associates of Jacksonville, Fla., as an environmental staff scientist. He is a graduate of the University of Wales, England.

The firm also named Justin Starling, David Marshall, Robert Himmel and Jeffrey Batten to the position of technician. Aaron Brackins was hired as a driller in the Daytona Beach location, while Richard Swaisgood will handle dispatch in Jacksonville.


Raymond Miller has joined Hennessy Construction Services of Sarasota, Fla., as a project manager.
