Chris R. Sheridan of Chris
R. Sheridan & Co. of Macon, Ga., was recently installed
as president of the Georgia Branch of Associated General Contractors.
The event took place at the association's recent convention
in Sandestin, Fla.
Doug Bodenhamer, president
of Capital Construction Co.
in Smyrna, Ga., was presented with the association's "S.I.R.
(Skill, Integrity and Responsibility) Award." Gary Young
of Young Contracting Co. in Roswell, Ga., the association's
outgoing president, was presented with a "Past President's
Plaque."
Bill Pinto, president and COO
of Atlanta-based Hardin Construction
Co., was recently awarded the "Golden Hammer Award"
from the Atlanta chapters of the Professional Construction
Estimators Association of America and the American Society
of Professional Estimators. The award is given to a construction
industry professional for their contributions to both the
industry and the community.
Pinto was cited for his participation in the Associated Builders
and Contractors, the Construction Education Foundation of
Georgia, GlenCastle Constructors, the Metropolitan Atlanta
YMCA and other organizations.
Scott Coulombe has been hired
as executive officer of the Collier
Building Industry Association in Naples. Coulombe served
as executive vice president for the 900-member Home Builders
Association of Greater New Orleans for the past seven years.
Anne Lloyd, vice president
and controller at Martin Marietta Materials,
Raleigh, N.C, has been elected as the company's chief financial
officer, effective June 1, 2005. The move was announced in
advance of the planned retirement of Senior Vice President
and CFO Janice K. Henry in 2006.
Lloyd, who has been controller since 1998, will retain her
position as chief accounting officer. Henry, who has served
as CFO since 1994, will continue as senior vice president
and treasurer through the transition process.
Jim Pritchett has been promoted
to vice president at Hardin Construction
Co., Atlanta. Previously a manager of large retail
projects, he has roughly 20 years of field operations experience.
John Kulpa has relocated from
HNTB's Los Angeles office to
its Miami location as chief transportation planner. Kulpa
will also serve as the deputy project manager for the East-West
Transit project for the Miami-Dade Transit Authority.
Also in Miami, Sunil Doddapaneni has joined HNTB as an engineer
in the Miami office's transportation department
The firm also announced David Theung will serve as senior
project engineer and head the Tampa office's transportation
department. In Fort Lauderdale, Xin Li was named project engineer.
He will provide traffic engineering support to the Florida
Turnpike.
In its Lake Mary, Fla., office, Boyd Jenkins has joined HNTB
as a project engineer in the highway department. He has more
than 15 years of experience as an engineer and survey technician.
Ron Smithhas joined Keene
Construction Co. of Orlando as vice president. A 17-year
veteran of the construction industry, Smith will manage all
corporate marketing activities, new business development and
assist with pre-construction services. Smith was formerly
vice president of Edwards Construction Services.
John Cheek joined the HOK
Planning Group of Atlanta as a senior associate and
project manager.
Also, Jacy Herendeen has joined the HOK Atlanta office interior
design studio as an interior designer.
Suzanne McCollum has been named
director of marketing at NexDSS.
The company, a division of Alpharetta, Ga.-based MACTEC Inc.,
designs facility asset management programs that minimize the
ownership cost of clients' physical properties and infrastructure.
In other company news, James D. Purvis
was appointed director of business development for MACTEC
Development Corp.
Mark Kendall has been named
project coordinator with Clancy &
Theys Construction Co. of Orlando. Also,
Chuck Martin was named assistant project manager. He
is currently assigned to the NASA Operations Support II project
at Kennedy Space Center.
Wendy Mickey recently joined
HDR's Tampa office as a healthcare
principal. She has nearly 20 years of experience in healthcare
architecture. She previously worked with Peterson Associates
of Charlotte.
Esther Ryskamp has joined The ADP
Group, a Sarasota-based design firm as intern architect.
Gary Matthews has joined
Parkside Partners of Atlanta as senior vice president
of development. He will oversee new development projects throughout
metro Atlanta.
Tim Hullihan has joined Oliver
- Glidden - Spina & Partners of West Palm Beach
as senior project manager. He joined OGS&P after 10 years
with Gee & Jenson.
IBA Consultants, a glass and
glazing consultant with offices in Sarasota and Boca Raton,
Fla., recently promoted David Becher,
Wayne Offerman and Anthony Porcello to vice president.
Becher was promoted from project manager to vice president
of West Coast operations. Offerman was promoted from senior
consultant to vice president, consulting services. His department
performs consulting services for architects, developers, general
contractors and owners on commercial and residential projects.
Porcello was promoted to vice president of operations and
will be responsible for sales and marketing and administration
staff. He previously served as vice president of sales and
marketing.
Allan Ulrich was named safety
director for the Miami, West Palm Beach and Port Charlotte
locations of Murton Roofing Corp.
The company also named Mark Barilla human resources director.
George Olsker was recently
named national accounts manager for Thompson
Pump & Manufacturing Co. in Port Orange, Fla. The
company also promoted David Schoen to the position of process
planner, and appointed Gentry Baumline as marketing director.
ASC Geosciences of Lakeland,
Fla., recently appointed the following as associates: H.
Frank Murati, Greg Stephan, Christopher Basile and Tommy Bradshaw.
Andy Mirowitz has joined Facchina-McGaughan
LLC of Fort Lauderdale as director of preconstruction
services. He will oversee the estimating and procurement/purchasing
departments.
Also, the company hired Curt Wyborny as a project manager
for its Quantum on the Bay project in Miami. He previously
worked for Bostic Steel as business development manager.
Jeff Blount has been promoted
to director of project development for The
Haskell Co.'s healthcare facilities division. He was
formerly a senior project manager for the Jacksonville, Fla.-based
firm.
Elkins Constructors of Jacksonville
recently promoted Troy Ernsthausen
to Level I superintendent, Joe Barnes
to Level IV superintendent, David Peel
to Level III superintendent and Rick
Cofer to Level II superintendent.
Also, Wanda Byargeon was promoted to subcontract administrator,
Leila Wilford to project administrator, Karen Healy to project
administrator in training, and Teresa Bradley and Joan Rainey
to senior project administrators.
Elkins also hired the following: Phil Chandler as human resource
manager, Patrick Madigan as project developer, Adair Curtis
as estimator, Cynthia Grant-Hunt as new project accountant
and Brendan Garuckasas field engineer.
The company also hired the following as superintendents:
