John Zumwalt III was recently named chairman of the board of PBS&J of Orlando during the firm's annual service and stockholders' meeting. Zumwalt served as president since 2000 and will continue to serve as CEO. He joined the firm in 1973 and has been on the board of directors since 1990. Former chairman Richard Wickett announced his retirement.

Todd Kenner will assume the role of president. He previously served as the regional director of the firm's West Region and is director of PBS&J's National Business Development Service.

Also, Brian L. Warrick was appointed corporate health and safety officer for the firm.


Leonard Martling was promoted to chief operating officer with The Weitz Co. of West Palm Beach. With more than 28 years of construction industry experience, he previously served as president of Weitz Florida for five years before accepting his new role.

Dennis Gallagher was named the new president of Weitz Florida. He previously held the position of director of health care construction for the firm.


Raymond Ramos, president of Raymond Engineering, Conyers, Ga., received the national Citizen Engineer Award for 2004 from the American Society of Civil Engineers. His service to the community included work as an elected member of the Rockdale County Board of Education, participation in the county's planning process and outreach efforts to meet the special needs of the community's citizens.


Daniel Hornback of WCI Communities, Bonita Springs, Fla., was named chairman of the Southwest Florida Section of the Florida Suncoast Chapter of the American Society of Safety Engineers. Other new officers include: Frank Subzda, CEU - vice chairman; Dean Ramineh of Boran Craig, Barber, Engel Construction Co. - treasurer; and Krista L. Brown-Hardee, WCI Communities - secretary.


Mark Herron and Scott McDonald joined Southern Construction Group of Jacksonville, Fla., as project managers.


Ray Miller joined Christiano Construction Co. of Clearwater, Fla., as a project manager. George Kalomeres was hired as a superintendent.


William Vaughan was hired as a senior technician with Ellis & Associates of Jacksonville, Fla. Philip Johnson and Christopher Rivera were hired as technicians, and Anthony Cinelli was hired as a staff geologist in the firm's Titusville office.

Also, Veronica Dykes was hired in administration.


Ron Leder joined HNTB of Tampa as a senior staff engineer. Mike Shields joined the firm as a senior inspector in the Orlando field office.

Also, Randy Babb joined the firm as a CADD Operator III.


Eric Wagner joined Encore Construction Co. of Winter Garden, Fla., as project manager. John Kenny and Harold Grose joined the firm as project superintendents.


Bill Kilma joined the Jacksonville, Fla., office of Batson-Cook Co. as purchasing coordinator.


Seretta Construction of Apopka, Fla., recently appointed Robert Fletcher, Jose Molina and Ricardo Garcia as project managers. Kimberly Ferro was named purchasing assistant.


Steven Farr joined The ADP Group of Sarasota as senior associate and will specialize in hospitality design. Angela Steusloff joined the firm as an interior design associate.


Jim Farley joined Leica Geosysgtems GIS & Mapping of Atlanta as vice president of business development. He has more than 20 years experience in the IT industry and was previously with Oracle as a senior principal product manager.


Daniel Merrell and Tim Shands joined Hardin Construction Co. of Atlanta as project managers. Donnie Langdale was promoted to senior superintendent and Shane Green was promoted to superintendent with the firm.


Carlos Rodriguez was promoted to vice president and territory general manager with ACI Construction Services of Tampa. He served previously as general manager of the firm's Daytona Beach office and is the former owner of COMCON Construction.

Also, Christine Hoffman was named as ACI's controller.


Judy Whitaker, with the Beck Group of Tampa, was promoted to manager of Total Blue, the firm's new client loyalty program.


Susan Pitman joined the W.G. Pitts Co. of Jacksonville, Fla., as director of project and business development.


David Torbert was promoted to principal with SchenkelShultz Architecture of Orlando. Kassey Teimouri and Rita Watson were promoted to associate.


Robert Rosenbert was hired as vice president of marketing with Adache Group Architects of Fort Lauderdale. Dick Bell was hired to oversee Adache's Pensacola, Fla., office. The firm also hired Kenneth Hinchcliffe and Patrick Gross as project architects.


Bud Wingate joined Structural Preservation Systems of Sarasota as project manager. He has more than 30 years experience in the construction field, of which 20 years have been spent specializing in the repair of post-tensioned concrete structures.


Jack Williams was named business director for Kairos Development Corp. of Atlanta. As one of the company's founders, he has been involved in the real estate industry since the mid 1980s.


John Page was hired as manager of business development with Wimberly Allison Tong & Goo, a design, planning and consulting firm in Orlando. Page is the former director of business development with Perini Building Co.


Erin Nellis and Steve Mordue joined DeBartolo Develoment of Tampa as development managers. Erik Hector joined the firm as a development officer and Ginger Simoens was hired as development coordinator. The firm specializes in developing retail and mixed-use real estate projects.


Gary Cox was promoted to vice president of the Orlando office of HKS Architects. He is a contract administrator and construction manager.

Keith Lashley was promoted to vice president in the firm's Tampa office. With 23 years of experience, he specializes in the design, production and construction management for hospitality, subway/surface mass transit, streetscape and residential projects.

Also, Carl Beers was promoted associate principal in HKS's Orlando office. He has more than 18 years experience in the design of healthcare facilities.
