The Stellar Group, Jacksonville, recently announced
the following appointments and promotions:
Ramon Flores has joined the firm as a senior electrical
engineer in the distribution division.
J.R. Pearce joins Stellar as senior vice president
of finance.
Mark Lowery was named division manager for the refrigeration
division.
Phil Hinrichs was promoted to vice president of safety
and human resources.
Humberto Lopez was promoted to division manager of
the process division.
Scott Baldwin was promoted to division manager of the
process division.
David Albertelli was promoted to division manager for
the power and utility division.
Tom Boll was promoted to director of project development
for the process division.
Two professional engineers at Orlando-based TLC Engineering
for Architecture have been designated LEED accredited
professionals by the U.S. Green Building Council. Don Morelli,
a senior electrical engineer in the health care division,
has more than 30 years experience in energy conservation methods.
Vince Briones, a mechanical engineer in the Orlando
division, has experience in the design of universities, hotels,
correctional facilities, industrial and commercial office
complexes.

Donald Hensley has been named director of business
development for Suitt Construction Co.'s Florida office,
located in Maitland. In his new position, Hensley will promote
the firm's design-build, construction and construction management
services to Florida markets. He is a 15-year veteran of the
construction industry.

Jim McCarthy announced he has formed his own firm,
The Spectrum Group. Based in Jacksonville, the new
firm offers public and government relations services, including
public involvement studies for the design and construction
industry and other clients. It will also focus on the creation
of strategic relationships, particularly involving minority
contractors with general conctrators, to acquire new work.
McCarthy previously served as director of business development
and vice president of Haskell Educational Services, Jacksonville.

Roepnack Corp., Pompano Beach, recently hired Christopher
C. Curtis as a project manager and estimator. Most recently
an estimator at Current Builders, Curtis has more than 21
years experience in the construction industry.
The company also recently promoted Brad Smith, formerly
project manager, to vice president and partner of the firm.
Smith, who joins Bob Roepnack and his brother, David, as a
partner, joined the firm in 2000 as a project manager.

Harvard Jolly Clees Toppe Architects, St. Petersburg, has named
Tina Stanisci business development director for the firm's health-care
division. Stanisci has more than 10 years marketing experience in the
A/E/C industry.
Also, Tiffanie Reynolds has joined the firm as marketing coordinator.
Reynolds will serve as marketing manager of Harvard Jolly's educational
design division.

Steven L. Dobbins has been named service sales manager for Comprehensive
Energy Services, Altamonte Springs. Dobbins brings over 25 years of
customer service experience in commercial/industrial heating, ventilation,
air conditioning and refrigeration.

Robert A. Parsons has been named account manager at S.I. Goldman
Co./Comfort Systems USA, a mechanical contractor and services company.
Parsons brings more than 24 years experience in the mechanical contracting
industry to his new position as manager of client services.

Pavarini Construction, Miami Lakes, recently appointed Rick
Kolb to vice president. Kolb formerly served as vice president with
Correctional Services Corp., Sarasota, and president of Gateland Construction
and Kolb Development Group.
Kolb brings expertise from the development side of commercial real estate
and construction and has experience with numerous aspects
of project development, including site location, design, permitting,
construction and final commissioning.

Cannon Design's Jacksonville office recently named Sharon A.
Clark to the position of project architect. Clark has 22 years of
professional architectural experience. 
PSA Constructors, Orlando, promoted Sandra Smith to administrative
assistant for its Riviera Beach office. She will coordinate PSA's administrative
activities related to its project with the city of Riviera Beach Community
Redevelopment Agency.

The Greater Palm Beach Chapter of the National Association of Women
in Construction recently installed its officers for 2002-2003. They
include: president - Dana Hernandez, Florida Waterproofing &
Supply; vice president - JoAnn Golden, JoAnn Golden Inc.; recording
secretary - Tina Tedder, Community Asphalt Corp.; corresponding
secretary - Shelley Newman, Advertising Promotion Specialties;
and treasurer - Rebecca Travis, William, Hatfield & Stoner.
Other members of the board of directors include: Janet Musil,
retired; Rose Kenney, Anderson-Moore Construction Corp.; and Sharon
Thayer, Department of Business and Professional Regulations.

WCG Professional Engineers, Maitland, hired Dennisse Zornan
as project engineer. The firm also added Bryan L. Wright to its
Maitland staff, naming him as marketing manager.

Solutions Inc., a Tampa-based general contractor, has named Stan
Klos to head its new health care division. Klos has more than 27 years
of experience building health-care facilities. The company also named
Steven Mordue as its director of corporate growth. Mordue will
be responsible for corporate-wide business development and acquisitions.

Hoar Construction, with offices in Orlando, recently promoted
Kirby Jones and Michael Parks to the position of project
manager, within its health-care division.
Jones most recently worked on the company's West Florida Hospital project
in Pensacola. Parks is currently working on a new HealthSouth Rehabilitation
Hospital project in Springhill.

Putzmeister America recently promoted Bill Carbeau to the
position of sales and product manager, telebelts and specialty equipment.
He will continue working from his Florida office.

Dave R. Kretzmer, previously quality control inspector at Thompson
Pump's Port Orange facility, has been promoted to quality control
foreman. Also, Joseph E. Bowser recently joined the company's Port
Orange production department.

Willis A. Smith Construction, Sarasota, announced that Warren
G. Simonds, Ph.D., has joined the firm as director of client relations
and business development. Simonds most recently served as vice president
of business development for Pavarini Construction.

Ron Lay has joined Skanska USA Building's Orlando office
as vice president of preconstruction, where he will lead the preconstruction
and estimating department. Lay joins Skanska with 30 years of experience,
including 22 with Dooley & Mack.
