Adrian Share and Conrad Blankenzee have joined HNTB Corp.’s high-speed rail practice in Lake Mary, Fla. HNTB, in a joint partnership with Wilbur Smith Associates, was selected by the Florida Dept. of Transportation earlier this year as the program manager for passenger rail in the state of Florida, primarily the link between Tampa and Orlando.
Share joins the firm as a senior vice president and program director of passenger rail for the newly formed Florida Rail Enterprise. He has more than 27 years of experience in program and project management, high-speed rail and transit, and roadway/bridge design.

Share previously worked for HNTB in the firm’s Boston office for 12 years and the Florida office for six years. After leaving HNTB in 2004, Share served as a senior vice president for Wilbur Smith Associates and managed the firm’s Florida and Caribbean region. He led WSA’s efforts assisting FDOT in its application process and related activities.
Blankenzee has joined the firm as a senior rail specialist. He will be responsible for the systems development of high-speed rail projects in Florida. Prior to joining HNTB, Blankenzee served as the project director for the Auckland Regional Transportation Authority.
Barry Harden was promoted to vice president of operations for Barnhill Contracting Co.’s Building Division in Raleigh, N.C.
Harden has more than 35 years of construction experience and has been with Barnhill for more than 15 years.
Wayne Burrus has joined the Haskell Co. in Jacksonville, Fla., as vice president and leader of the Commercial Group’s health-care division. He is charged with growing Haskell’s design-build practice in the health-care market throughout the United States.
Burrus has more than 30 years experience in the design-build delivery of health-care facilities.
BLANKENZEE
Steven Hawkins has joined Jacksonville, Fla.-based Stellar as director of its automation services department. Hawkins will oversee all aspects of automation on Stellar projects, including design implementation of control systems, retrofitting of electromechanical systems and integration of control and industrial systems. He has more than 20 years of related experience.
David Rattner has joined retail developer Konover South of Deerfield Beach, Fla., as vice president of acquisitions, with a primary focus on sourcing grocery and retail-anchored shopping centers. Rattner has more than 20 years of experience in retail and commercial investment.
Richard B. Werts, formerly director of traffic engineering for the South Carolina Dept. of Transportation, has joined Stantec’s Charleston, S.C., office as senior traffic and safety engineer for the southeastern U.S.
Werts worked for SCDOT for nearly 20 years.
HARDEN
Gene Drake has joined the Georgia Concrete Paving Association in Fayetteville, Ga., as executive director.
Drake is a 10-year veteran of the concrete industry, and most recently served as the Georgia engineer for the American Concrete Pipe Association.
Outgoing executive director Allan Childers will remain as a consultant.
Drake previously worked as director of sales, engineering and logistics for Foley Products Co. of Newnan, Ga.
Coastal Construction Group of Miami has named Erin Murphy vice president of Coastal Environmental Services. The newly formed affiliate of Coastal Construction Group specializes in disaster relief and clean-up efforts.
Murphy will oversee the launch, development and operations of Coastal Environmental Services. He will also seek to expand the company’s business development opportunities in the U.S. and Caribbean.
