Balfour Beatty Names John Woodcock to Lead Carolinas Division

Robert B. Hambright has retired as chief executive officer of Balfour Beatty Construction’s regional division based in Charlotte, N.C.

Hambright joined the company in 2001 to found the division and had served in his current role as CEO since then.

John F. Woodcock was named to lead the Charlotte-based division as president. Woodcock joined Balfour Beatty in 2004 and most recently served as division chief financial officer and senior vice president of the Southeast region.

Also, Michael Flanigan has joined Balfour Beatty Construction in Atlanta as leader of the multi-unit housing division. Flanigan has 21 years of experience in project and business development management.

Barry Hennings was promoted to president and chief operating officer at general contracting firm John S. Clark Co. of Mount Airy, N.C.

Hennings joined the company in 1984 as a project manager and vice president of operations. He has served as executive vice president of the company for the past 10 years.

Hennings also will serve as chairman and CEO of Design Inc., John S. Clark’s wholly owned architectural firm.

Judith A. Dolan was promoted to vice president of Berger Commercial Realty Corp. of Fort Lauderdale, Fla. Dolan has been with the company for three years, and has 12 years of commercial real estate experience.

Frank Nelson was named vice president and general manager of Batson-Cook Co.’s Tampa office. Nelson will lead efforts in strategic planning, business development and construction operations. He has been with Batson-Cook for more than 20 years.

Antonin Aeck, managing principal for Atlanta-based architectural firm Lord, Aeck & Sargent, was named to the new role of board chairman. Also, Joseph Greco, a 19-year veteran of the firm, was named to the new position of president.

Roger Anderson has joined BRPH in Melbourne, Fla., as director of design. With nearly 20 years of experience, Anderson will oversee design development for all of the firm’s projects.

Bill Row also has joined BRPH’s Melbourne office as deputy director of operations. Row has been with the firm for nearly 15 years and most recently served as senior project manager.

Barry Sallas has joined the firm’s Atlanta office as director of education. Sallas, with nearly 20 years of architectural experience, will lead the firm’s education projects in Georgia.

Kajima Building & Design Group of Atlanta hired David Misiaszek as manager of business development for its “Mission Critical” division.

Also, Tatiana Velez was promoted to marketing specialist.

Ford Gibson was named chief operating officer of real-estate developer Konover South in Deerfield Beach, Fla. The announcement follows Konover’s recent merger with Coral Gables, Fla.-based Gibson Development Partners. Gibson has 27 years of industry experience.

HDR’s Jacksonville, Fla., office announced three new hires. George McGregor was named program manager; Isaac Wingfield was hired as a port/marine project engineer; and Theresa Liermann joined the firm as a solid waste engineer-in-training.

McGregor has more than 35 years of civil engineering experience, including 25th years with the City of Jacksonville. Wingfield has more than seven years of experience providing civil/structural design and consulting services.

Liermann worked previously as an intern for HDR in its West Palm Beach office.

Duncan Hastie, engineering department manager in Dewberry’s Atlanta office, was promoted to senior associate. Duncan has 14 years’ experience in water resource engineering and hazard mapping and mitigation.

Samuel Crampton, deputy department manager in the firm’s Atlanta office, was promoted to associate. He has more than nine years of industry experience.

Ring Power Corp., the St. Augustine, Fla.-based Caterpillar distributor, promoted Brian Cholmondeley to assistant governmental sales manager. He is a 16-year veteran of Ring Power.

The company also promoted Robert Burkhead to the position of general manager for its lift trucks division. Burkhead has been with the company for 17 years.

WilsonMiller has hired David Tillis to manage the firm’s new office in Jacksonville, Fla. Prior to joining the firm, Tillis worked for the Bonita Bay Group and The St. Joe Co., specializing in real estate and land use entitlement.

Clinton Cooper joined Grayman Construction Management Service of Sanford, Fla., as director of business development. Cooper has more than 17 years of experience in finance, construction, land acquisition and community development.

Ellis & Associates of Jacksonville, Fla., promoted Michael T. Gruber to director of sales. Joe Champion was promoted to director of construction materials testing and Inspection. Also in the CMT Group, Traci Edmonds was promoted to transportation project administrator, Justin Scarberry is now manager of CMT field operations, and Will Vaughn is manager of CMT lab operations.

McKim & Creed, an engineering, surveying and planning firm in Raleigh, N.C., promoted Tim Baldwin, Tim Cawood, Street Lee and Mark Smith to the positions of senior vice president.

Cawood will oversee the firm’s surveying and mapping services. Lee will be in charge of water and wastewater services, and Smith will manage the development and natural resources business unit. Baldwin will be responsible for business development in the water and wastewater industry.

Bridget A. Paterno was promoted to senior marketing coordinator for SchenkelShultz Architecture of Orlando. She has been with the firm for nearly five years.

Jeffrey Lurie joined L2 Studios of Orlando as design architect.

Hagen Lambert was named senior vice president of operations at Gate Precast Co.’s operations in Oxford, N.C. Lambert previously served in this same capacity at the company’s concrete products division in Jacksonville, Fla.

Tom Newton, previously vice president of sales and marketing for Gate Concrete, was named vice president of operations at the Jacksonville manufacturing facility.

Frank Salmon has joined PBS&Js design and federal group in Orlando as a project manager for the applied technologies group.

David M. Meech has joined he Charlotte, N.C., office of design and architecture firm Perkins Eastman as an associate principal. He has more than 30 years of experience in health-care architecture, business development and master planning.

Duke Overstreet has joined LandSouth Construction of Jacksonville, Fla., as an assistant superintendent.

Dalton Drake has joined J.L. Wallace of Fort Myers, Fla., as director of business development.
