EMCOR Acquires LT Mechanical of Charlotte
EMCOR Group of Norwalk, Conn., announced it has acquired L.T. Mechanical of Charlotte, N.C., a mechanical and plumbing contractor and service provider. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
LT Mechanical performs sheet metal, piping and plumbing installation and service in the Charlotte area as well as throughout North and South Carolina.
LT Mechanical will be joined with EMCOR Services Aircond, an EMCOR mechanical services company in the Southeast, based in Smyrna, Ga.
Terry Mimnaugh, president of EMCOR Services Aircond, stated: “With this acquisition, EMCOR Services Aircond will be the largest mechanical services-focused contractor in the Southeast that is not owned by an equipment manufacturer.”
Donley’s to Acquire Blair Concrete Services
Cleveland, Ohio-based Donley’s has reached an agreement to acquire Blair Concrete Services, a concrete construction company with offices in Raleigh and Wilmington, N.C., as part of an ongoing expansion into North Carolina. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
“This is a tremendous opportunity to grow our concrete business,” stated Ian Blair, president of Blair Concrete Services.
“We have been impressed with the North Carolina market for years and have been actively looking for opportunities to grow our business here,” said Mac Donley, president and CEO of Donley’s.
Blair will maintain a minority ownership stake in the company and continue to manage the day-to-day business. It will operate as a subsidiary of Donley’s and will be known as Blair Concrete Services, a Donley’s Company.
Donley’s recently opened a sales office in Raleigh as part of its efforts to expand its parking deck business into North Carolina.
Moretrench Acquires John N. Puder
Moretrench, a geotechnical contractor based in Rockaway, N.J., announced it has acquired the assets of Orlando-based geotechnical contractor John N. Puder Inc.
The company will remain under the day-to-day management of John Puder, and do business as John N. Puder, a Division of Moretrench. The Orlando regional office will offer geotechnical design and construction services throughout Florida and Georgia.
Lubert-Adler and Lane Co. Form Alliance Focused on Distressed Properties
Philadelphia-based real estate investment firm Lubert-Adler and Lane Co. of Atlanta have formed a multifamily real estate venture. Lubert-Adler will provide $250 million for the acquisition of multifamily properties primarily in the Southeast and Southwest. The initial funds will be used for the acquisition, rehabilitation and repositioning of distressed properties, or properties held by distressed sellers.
Lubert-Adler previously invested in several of Lane Co.’s communities in Atlantic Station, the redevelopment in Midtown Atlanta.
In 2007, Lane began actively pursuing acquisitions of “value-add” multifamily properties that need an infusion of capital or are located in recovering markets. Lane Company currently is supervising the renovation of five such value-add acquisitions located from Baltimore, Md., to Austin, Texas.
BRPH Savannah, Ga.
Melbourne, Fla.-based BRPH Cos. announce the opening of a new office in the historic district of Savannah, Ga. The new office will be the firm’s second in Georgia.
BRPH is currently providing professional services in the Savannah area for Gulfstream Aerospace Corp., Savannah-Chatham County Public Schools, EFACEC Manufacturing in Effingham County, and the design of Garden City’s new town hall.
