Zachry Holdings Acquires Southerland Associates of Charlotte
Zachry Holdings of San Antonio, Texas, a privately held industrial engineering, construction and services organization, has completed the acquisition of Southerland Associates, an engineering, construction and fabrication services company based in Charlotte, N.C.
“The purchase of Southerland Associates gives Zachry a permanent presence in the southeastern United States,” CEO John Zachry said.
Zachry’s regional craft employment and craft training offices will be fully functional in early 2009.
Skanska Receives Minority Business Advocate of the Year Award
The Durham, N.C., office of Skanska USA Building was recently presented with the Minority Business Advocate of the Year Award by the North Carolina Minority Business Enterprise Center, a component of the North Carolina Institute of Minority Economic Development. The award acknowledges a company’s dedication to minority businesses and diversity.
“Skanska is committed to providing opportunities for its potential partners in the growing minority community,” said Renee Jones, Skanska’s subcontractor program manager.
“From our day-to-day experiences, we feel that Skanska is truly deserving of this award,” said Dan Stafford, compliance director with the NCIMED. “The Skanska team is committed to providing opportunities for the company’s current and potential partners in the minority business community.”
