WK Dickson Acquires Sladek Engineering

WK Dickson & Co., an engineering design firm in Charlotte, N.C., announced it has acquired the assets of David Sladek Engineering of Savannah, Ga. Sladek is primarily a structural engineering company.

Before the acquisition, Sladek Engineering had been serving the Savannah area since 1992. The majority of Sladek’s focus has been structural engineering for public institutions and private developers.

WK Dickson is an ENR Top 500 consulting firm specializing in transportation planning and design; environmental and water resources engineering; community planning and development; and geospatial technology.

Hardin Construction Moving to New Headquarters

Atlanta-based Hardin Construction Co. is moving its company headquarters to expanded facilities in Wildwood Office Park, in southeast Cobb County. The company expects to complete the relocation by December.

The company will pursue a LEED certification for a planned interior build-out of its office space. Hendrick Inc. is providing interior design and LEED certification assistance.

HD Supply Opens New Distribution Center

HD Supply Electrical, a division of HD Supply, recently opened a Florida electrical distribution center in Orlando. The new distribution center began operating July 1. HD Supply Electrical is part of HD Supply, a wholesale distribution company serving the infrastructure, construction, maintenance, repair and remodel markets.

Stevens Construction Wins Aurora Award

Stevens Construction of Fort Myers won an Aurora Award at the Southeast Builders Conference in Orlando. The Aurora Awards honor construction and design projects within a 12-state region. 

The company was recognized for its South Seas Island Resort clubhouse and pool complex, on Captiva Island. The 12,000-sq-ft resort addition includes a clubhouse with indoor and outdoor waterfront dining and bar options, activity rooms for adults and children, and a nature center.

Entries were judged on design, quality of construction, unusual constraints encountered, cost savings development and building features.
