Central Florida NAIOP Presents Awards of Excellence

The Orlando-based Central Florida chapter of the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties announced winners of its 2005 NAIOP Awards of Excellence at its 10th Annual Gala held December 1 in Orlando. The awards and winners included:

  • Developer of the Year - EastGroup Properties;
  • Outstanding Office Development - CNL Center II, by Carter & Associates;
  • Outstanding Industrial Development - Cypress Park V, by Panattoni Development Co.;
  • Outstanding Business Park Development - Challenger South Phase I, by Taurus Southern Investments;
  • Outstanding Mixed-Use Development - Park Place, by Trammell Crow Co.;
  • Outstanding Project Design - McCree, for interiors of Orlando Regional Healthcare Foundation and ORHS Training Offices at Southgate Phase V for Pineloch Management Corp.;
  • Office Broker of the Year - Ron Rogg, CB Richard Ellis, for top overall production volume;
  • Industrial Broker of the Year - David Murphy, CB Richard Ellis, for third consecutive year, with top overall production volume;
  • Associate Member of the Year - Stephen Aldridge, Trammell Crow Co.;
  • Spirit of Orlando Award - Bruce Williams, Williams Co.;
  • President's Award - Linda Lay, Rebman Properties; and,
  • Lifetime Achievement Award - George Livingston, NAI Realvest.

NAIOP is the nation's leading trade association for developers, owners, investors, asset managers and others in industrial, office and mixed-use commercial real estate.

Linder Industrial Machinery Opens New Facility in South Carolina

Linder Industrial Machinery Co., a Komatsu distributor based in Plant City, Fla., announce the opening of a new facility in Greer, S.C. Jeff Cox, company president, said the new facility was added to address increased area demand.

Linder Industrial Machinery is the Komatsu distributor for Florida, North Carolina and South Carolina. Counties covered by the new branch include Union, Laurens, Greenwood, McCormick, Abbyville, Anderson, Oconee, Pickens, Greenville, Spartanburg and Cherokee.

Stellar Group Donates to Endow Scholarship at UNF

The Stellar Group of Jacksonville, Fla., has donated $100,000 in order to establish an endowed scholarship for the University of North Florida's Building Construction Management Program. The scholarship will be known as The Stellar Group Scholarship and will provide financial assistance to undergraduate degree candidates studying building construction management and engineering. As a result of the state's matching grant program, the scholarship amount will be increased to $150,000 by 2007.

Ronald H. Foster Jr., president and CEO of The Stellar Group, recently stated, "Stellar has a long-standing tradition of hiring UNF graduates, and this is directly related to the success of their building construction management program. We are proud to support UNF."

UNF's Building Construction Management Program, accredited by the American Council for Construction Education, has more than 180 majors.

Seretta Construction Wins Two National Awards

Seretta Construction of Apopka, Fla., recently won two national Achievement Awards from the Tilt-up Concrete Association for two Southeastern projects. The concrete contractor was recognized for its St. Sarkis Armenian Church project in Charlotte, N.C., and for its First Baptist Church of Indian Rocks project in Largo, Fla.
