North Terminal Development-MIA
Project Cost: $125.6 million
Miami-Dade Aviation Department’s North Terminal Development Remodeling and Renovations project at Miami International Airport continues to progress.
MCM Dragados, a joint venture between MCM of Miami and Dragados USA of New York, began the project in April 2008. The work consists of interior renovations and exterior alterations to 450,500 sq ft at the airport. It entails installation of new finishes, lighting, furnishings, graphics and electrical installations. The project also includes two new roof structures to accommodate new HVAC units and reinforcement of existing structural footers, columns and beams.
The project also includes close coordination with Parsons-Odebrecht Joint Venture, which is constructing another, larger portion of the new North Terminal that abuts the MCM Dragados contract. Both contractor groups have to complete their respective contracts at approximately the same time in order to facilitate the opening of the new baggage facility in this part of North Terminal.
