Interstate 95, Brevard County, Fla.
Project Cost: $196.3 million
Community Asphalt Corp. of Hialeah, Fla., a subsidiary of OHL of Spain, received a $196.3-million contract from the Florida Dept. of Transportation to design, build and finance construction of an improvement and expansion of Interstate 95 in Brevard County, Fla. The company will widen I-95 from four lanes to six lanes from south of State Road 514 to south of State Road 519.
The contractor will complete the highway two years ahead of FDOT’s schedule and be repaid over a five-year period. Scope of work includes new asphalt pavement, drainage system improvements, bridge widening, bridge replacements, construction of a new interchange at the Pineda Causeway Extension, noise and retainer wall construction, median barriers, signing and pavement markings, milling and resurfacing and lighting.
