Phipps Tower Office Building

Developers Crescent Resources of Charlotte, N.C., in a joint venture with Manulife Financial of Canada, is proceeding with a $175-million, speculative office building that will link to the adjacent Phipps Plaza.

Brasfield & Gorie of Atlanta began construction on the $77-million construction, 20-story, concrete-frame tower in March 2008. The project includes 500,000 sq ft of speculative office space and a 1,100-car parking deck.

The contemporary building, designed by Little Diversified Architectural Consulting of Charlotte, N.C., will feature a light-colored, floor-to-ceiling glass curtain wall; terraced garden plaza; and lobby restaurant and cafe.

The project team aims for LEED certification. The building will employ energy-efficient air and lighting systems, water and plumbing conservation systems and enhanced air-quality measures
