NCDOT U.S. Route 19

Project Cost: $107.8 million

NCDOT U.S. Route 19

Taylor & Murphy Construction, Asheville, N.C., and Young & McQueen Grading, Burnsville, N.C., began widening limited-access road U.S. Route 19 in North Carolina’s Madison and Yancey counties from two lanes to four lanes in September. The 13.5-mi-long project includes work on six bridges and adding turn lanes at crossroads. U.S. 19 has been identified as a strategic highway corridor by NCDOT for the role it plays in regional and statewide mobility.
