Palm Beach County Experiences Renaissance

By Jennifer LeClaire

Downtown West Palm Beach is experiencing a real estate renaissance with major redevelopment plans in the works and new construction under way across the county.

Boynton Beach is booming, with $800 million in new construction projects planned for the coastal town. Thousands of condominium units, new hotels, retail and office space are in the works. The first major project to break ground is The Related Group's Marina Village, a 15-story, $102 million tower on eight acres along the Intracoastal.

The Altman Cos. recently closed on an $8 million land acquisition and predevelopment loan for Astor, a 90-unit condo and retail development slated to begin construction in June in downtown Delray Beach.

Pavarini Construction is building the $110 million Marina Grande condo on up-and-coming Riviera Beach. This soon-to-be-trendy city will also be home to The Resort at Singer Island, a condominium project being built by Boran Craig Barber Engle Construction Co.of Naples.

Boca Raton is also a hot spot. Boca Ocean Development, a subsidiary of The Trump Group of Williams Island, is building the Luxuria residential tower there. And Kaufman Lynn General Contractors of Boca Raton is building The Silver Building, a $4.1 million, 15,000-sq.-ft., two-story commercial office in Boca Raton.
